This is why air ride is a waste of time. You higher the motor for the road and the pressure In the bags makes it solid. To make it a half decent ride you need air out the bags and then you’re low so might as-well have spent 2k on some really good coilovers instead

Yep they're just tacky and have zero function. I never understood why people want to air out a car and dump the wheels on the arches

I used to have a mk2 leon btcc on air ride and I can agree , the ride was shockingly bouncy and cornering was scary as to get them that low the front anti roll bar gets removed and a notch cut in the chassis for the driveshaft to sit it

I don't understand air bags personally. Not a fan of wonky camber either lol. Anything that makes a car drive worse is a no for me

Will never trust my car to someone I don’t have faith in just because they are a few £ cheaper. I’ve talked to Will several times and his knowledge and passion for what he does is not matched by anyone else I’ve spoken too. Old adage “pay cheap, pay twice” springs to mind. 😉

Looks good but seems like things need to be changed calvin....needs mk 5 wheel with paddles that work ...and needs back seats....and..not a fan of air ride.....But some one will love it.

Calvin I’m pretty sure the mk7 steering wheel and paddles can be coded so they work, as the conversion has been done quite a few times

Swap the bags for coilovers and you’ve got a pretty sexy car. Maybe some different wheels like the Enkei T6R’s.

I rescued a mk6 golf r with a terrible air lift setup. The first thing I did was get rid of the bags.

Love carlines so much. Always loved my homies set of triple chrome Carlines on his black e36 m3, and I actually ended up trading a guy with a mk4 GTi my set of Image BBMs for a set of diamond cut face/polished lip Tracer Tech2’s for my WRX. Super similar directional face design, but the full set of Tech2’s they make all 4 faces the same direction so people always thought you were running them backwards 😂 god I miss those wheels so much 😩 so many good wheels throughout the years that I wish so badly I still had 💔 Solid pickup on the mk5 though man, that’s a gorgeous build

The air ride system is an eventual back breaker. It's fine for posing about at lower speeds, but has no place in real world driving situations. Although very expensive, the wheels are hideous.

If you get in touch with Alex @vwretrofit he will be able to swap the module and code that steering wheel so there’s no errors and you should be able to use the paddles again he’s based in Redditch , with air ride the ride isn’t quite as good as kw coil overs or other good brands but it’s a good compromise if you wanna slam your car parked up and still be able to use it daily I’ve built a few bagged cars now you can also set them up for handing or just stance like yours is they handle much better without tons of camber but you ain’t fitting 9.5” rear wheels on a golf without it so needs must enjoying your verdict on it though stay blessed 👊🏻

😂😂it's a Young kids project... steering and gear box it all fooked up... I hope you didn't pay much calv....£1000 max? The wheels like you said are the most expensive part of that...it's a lot of car... All the lights on the dash etc etc... It'll be a good car to win on CCD. But it's not a "good" car looks amazing. But I imagine problems more than a good 6 hours with it... If I'm wrong...then tyre's for sure! They don't last long running at the angles
