I sit next to the away fans in the Sir Bobby stand and there is basically no atmosphere. I think one of the biggest problems at Old Trafford at the moment is the disconnect from the Stretford end to the other sides of the stadium, you can't even hear the Stretford end over the away fans 80% of the time.

The problem is the age demographic kids can't afford the tickets and people who were young when they first got there tickets aren't young anymore which is where the atmosphere comes from...

@ I don't know about that, lots of people say this, but when you look around Europe, there are some amazing atmospheres with the same age demographic as us, look at the yellow wall. Their ticket prices aren't too dissimilar to our own, ranging from €30-80 for a single ticket and up to €800 for a season ticket. This isn't to say that the age isn't a part of the problem, I just think it's massively blown out of proportion.

@@Stegibbon that's not the point, you can't even hear the Stretford end that much when the away end are quiet, the acoustics of the ground are just shite, and all the atmosphere is being forced into once side of the pitch. The rest is full of family and executive seats.

​@S3mpa yeah the low roof is really bad for that. I sit exactly opposite the away fans and the Stretford end could be bouncing for 20 mins, have a lull, then I finally hear the away fans singing "shall we sing a song for you?", and I'm there thinking have they even opened their mouths yet?

All the above is true but it’s more nuanced than that. We ha allowed negative toxic pundits to guide how we view the club, not players now seem to scared to take opponents on for fear of making a mistake and they so concerned about that so they end up making mistakes. Sentiment matters, any person who is confident in their ability to climb Everest usually conquer Everest. Don’t get me wrong these players are not above criticism and a lot of why we go through coaches the way we do is because of them, but calling players trash isn’t the answer either. Tell anyone they are useless enough times and eventually the internalise that. We can criticise our players but we also have to protect them from the media who don’t want united to succeed

It's called relativity of success, not entitlement. A mid table prem team nearing relegation could get called entitled by a mid table championship team. A championship team who should be getting into the playoffs complaining about missing out could be called entitled by lower division teams. Your success is based on the foundation you've already paved, the size of the club you are. If you feel entitled because you're not winning silverware, competing at the top level, then you need to understand relativity and up your standards.
