First ever Black Cyalume finish

With Simo finishing Something on ACID, this is the hardest trial a human has ever finished. Absolutely unreal. (edit: I believe Acid is harder than Cyalume.)
I'm gonna start the book that is this description by talking about the map itself and the cps.
Before I say anything, here's the difficulty of each cp in my opinion:
hardest cps by increasing difficulty (normal route, imo*):
CP2-CP4-CP1-CP3-CP10-CP5-CP7-CP0-CP9-CP8-CP6
easy: CP2-CP4-CP1-CP3
medium: CP10-CP5-CP7
hard: CP0
hardcore: CP9-CP8-CP6
and here's my original estimate, with my actual cp times in brackets:

I had of course already trained each cp quite a lot, between 1 and 10 hours total for each. I was planning on doing a full run since a few weeks, and waited to have time to do the run in the span of 2 days. That's what I did: I started on friday afternoon and finished on saturday afternoon. CP0 is the worst CP of them all. I was expecting to struggle here, but jeez that was the most nerve-racking of them all. It's random, weird, and very frustrating. Getting it was a real relief. Shoutouts to Wasker for showing me that obvious backup strat. CP1 is fine, it's actually one of my favorites, CP2 is the easiest, nothing crazy there too. CP3 is fine too, it's basically one very hard pipedance. CP4... it's supposed to be the 2nd easiest one. It took me 55MIN. What an absolute disgrace that was. The only part you can fail after the waterbounce is getting a bug on the edge of the blue wall. THAT'S IT. And I used the noballs strat for the end. Whatever, moving on. CP5 is fine, the end is kinda random but it's short, I got it pretty quickly. CP6 is definitely the hardest CP of the entire run, with CP8 close behind. That landing on the last blue wall is so hard, just like landing on the pipe. I really like this CP tho, even tho it's difficult. I was over estimate but whatever. Big shoutouts to myself for finding that backup strat that helped me a lot. Also that 180 on the blue wall was one of the most stressful moments of my entire life (even more with the mod, you can't see the edges). CP7 is shitty, it's honestly pretty random with the road clip and the blue wall transition (yikes). It also has a start cut that I didn't use because I didn't feel like it. Instead I used a strat where you stop after the random booster before the pipe bounce, it makes it a bit better. I anticipated CP8 as the hardest of the run. I was decently consistent at the fs-with-bounce-on-black-box part and failed the last FS part only 2-3 times so I got it quickly. CP9 is the massive surprise. First try last FS part, unbelievable (it's harder than it looks). I'm very thankful for that. I got CP10 pretty quickly (REALLY thankful for that) and with a very satisfying uber.
About the run itself, before CP8, it's pretty bad, not gonna lie. I know I'm talking about Black Cyalume, that it took Simo 26hours IGT to finish acid, and that I underestimated some parts, but still. Too much time spent on CP0, CP4, CP6 and CP7. I did get very unlucky during those CPs too, and the combination of being bad and having bad luck is pretty much the worst thing you can get. I forgot to mention that I stopped to sleep at CP7, and woke up with 7 hours of sleep behind me, so it's not really explaining the good run from CP8 on. I did finish under my estimate, so that's cool.
Nothing much left to say other than that the 2 remaining unfinished trials, 7 and Final Enigma will most likely never be finished, by anyone, ever (I estimate Final Enigma to be approximately 4 times harder than Black Cyalume).
Everything you see in the video is probably both harder and easier than it looks.
3.5 years ago, I got to the top of the start, and dreamt of getting to the loop part, and who knows, maybe I would get to CP1. Here I am, the 13th of october 2018, finishing the track. What a ride™.
Shoutouts to whoever (Simo/Sokko/Loe?) juked that map the night there was a lot of people of the trial server (ZR, I think t3 wasn't up again at the time) to remind me that I indeed wanted to get to CP1. This is an absolutely insane accomplishment, which I didn't think anyone would ever achieve. In only twelve hours too! My estimate for a finishing run would have been waaaay more before you started playing this track. A massive GG and so much respect to you for dedicating many days of your life for this! also, your strategy of doing every cp separately beforehand as practice was interesting, as it's not what I did with acid^^

Thanks Simo :) I know you kinda went like blind run in Acid and trained in editor during run, right? Personally I find it too annoying and too long to train in another TM while in a run, that's why I practiced like that :D Also doing full cps allowed me to estimate my time decently accurately :p

Thanks Nico! It's a little bit less dark ingame and the only real problem with this mod is that sometimes you can't really see the borders of a block (especially the last blue wall on cp6, where you have to do a 180) This map is old, and I've always played with the mod, so I'm used to it :D

I agree. Acid looks harder indeed. If you can also finish Acid in around 12 hours, Than they have similar difficulty. But if you finish it far above 12 hours. Than i guess Acid is harder.

Nawk recently finished the Hadean and Black Cyalume out of the 7 extreme trials. I’m not sure but he might also have finished Cretaceous Period and AAF. Anyways, that definitely deserves the best trial player 2018 award, beside of Simo’s Something On Acid finish there weren’t any bigger achievements.

It really depends on what your criteria are. TM is a time attack game. And I could never get Kitty's ~1h50 on AAF for example. Also if we're going blind run on a new track, I'm not gonna be first because I base my runs on a lot of practice. I believe a lot of good trial players, with dedication, could finish Black Cyalume
