No it isn't. It's a good cinematic drone, it's is horrible for any freestyle or racing. Looks way too heavy and people have mentioned bad propwash. Any $100 freestyle quad would destroy this pile of junk

Gentlemen, I always love your videos but this is by far my favorite!! I currently fly various DJI and Autel drones for photography work so when DJI announced this drone I was beyond excited. I just bought the DJI FPV Combo and to be honest have been a little concerned as I have never flown a racing drone. Thanks to your insight, and expertise I feel much better about the purchase. It actually arrives today and after watching your video I am ready to jump into the new drone experience!!

The safety features plus all the security features like being able to determine no-fly zones is what convinced me to get this product. This adds a layer of safety and avoids legal repercussions that most FPV drones don't have.

"Safety" as its deemed in the States is just another measure being taken to criminalize what has historically been a hobby without a major incident. Sure there are stupid people who'll do stupid things with an RC craft, however no amount of built-in safety can save a stupid person from themselves. Odds are that such people will be used to promote a culture of fear in which the RC community as a whole will suffer the consequences. End result is that the imposed laws / restrictions will only serve the interest of law-enforcement and the firms seeking to exploit the tech for their own gains by making it out of reach to the general public.

No fly zones are very prevalent and more populated areas because they consider anything and everything a no fly zone. Even across rivers and national parks are considered no fly zones in my area. It's almost hard to find places that you can throw this thing up. Also in my city an hour before during and an hour after sporting events the whole city is considered a no-fly zone so things can change at any time immediately.

@@4DCResinSmoker Most FPV flying is done at or below tree top level. You'll be less enthusiastic about the geo fencing when you find a perfect flying site in the middle of nowhere, and you can't fly because there's an airport 4 1/2 miles away.

Fantastic presentation. That was one of the coolest videos to watch, I've seen in awhile. What came to mind was "Futuristic, here, how". The best part? I nailed the price, exactly. Meaning? It came across as extremely reasonable, fair, even, for what it can do, it's appearance, functionality, and "awesomeness". This looks like one of those purchases, a person would be not only damn proud to make, and to recommend? But a product and company, who's put so much forethought and customer consideration into their entire package, people will wish to become LOYAL customers. And, if you ask me? that latter, for companies, should be their greatest desire. Thanks for giving us the tour and making it completely understandable, and relatable guys. Best 34 minutes I've spent in a video, for some time!

The thing is I don't mind that design decision. The only real solution with a lens that wide would be to jut the camera out front. You do not want your fragile lens assembly to be the first point of contact in a crash.

You all are the BEST! My first and only Drone has been the Bugs 2. No camera or goggles with it. SO HARD TO CONTROL! I figured it was best for me to practice at a baseball/open field and I have many times but it’s so sensative. Sensative is good, but without a very expensive camera and goggle set up I feel I can’t really understand this crazy girl!

I would look into more videos, This is one that you should take a hard look at. You can't repair it, the dji extended warranty is good for 2 replacements and you pay 65% for a replacement in stead of 40% like any other item that DJI has..

I got a dji drone and freestyle fpv drone I built from scratch. Love flying both but the full fpv experience is like nothing else. Would love to fly the new dji fpv drone full manual mode but just not on my dime. I go hard freestyle and I know that dji won't handle the punishment I would have in store for it. Lol

150 degrees is super wide to give you clear view at high speed in manual... cropping slightly still gives you a massive cinematic view and no props in post.

6:10 Says 150-degree view can go down to 142-degree with no fish-eye distortion. Plus, the camera is gimbaled and thus adjustable.

Saw a detailed review that stated the ultra wide view is only pilot viw (recording in goggles I guess) The full 4k recording is narrower, removed distortion and stabilised. Unfortunately no 24-25 or 30 fps which rules it out for me until that's been changed.

EXACTLY one of the things I'm most excited about. Yeah cruising full out you're not getting the 20 minute top flight time but fully expect up to 15 minutes while chasing a plane.

@@BuddyRC also pause button is nice, for starting FPV you practiced some rolls in built in simulator and try one with quad and it scares you, you can trigger it upside down in free fall and it will flip it and try to catch it as fast as it can.

1-Axis stabilized gimbal. Not like a Mavic at all. It's like a great drone for cruising at tree-top height. Very interesting drone. Wish I could fly it then I c could decide if its a winner or not. Right now it's just cool.

Awesome looking thing. As an RC heli pilot, I've always eyeballed FPV quads and thought "meh...maybe someday." I never liked the analog video signal for the goggle, when the DJI Digital goggles came out, I thought ok, this is a solid picture for my own enjoyment of the picture. I like the perspective as a change up for acrobatic, but prefer LoS and 3D RC heli flying. I also like the idea taking photos and video from a drone as well (I dabble in both with a regular camera). Overall, I've just never been committed to get into quads because I know how much time RC heli stuff takes and don't really have the space to manage much else. This package and capability combo is looking super juicy to me for the experience and time saving. Here's one weird quirk I'd have with the motion controller. I have a bit of flight sim experience too, including helicopters and having one main stick like that is not natural for either a fixed-wing or rotor aircraft. My hands are on stick and throttle (HOTAS) for fixed wing, or collective and cyclic for helicopter and these both convert into how RC world uses transmitters. I wouldn't want a flight control system trying to blend the two for me into one stick which is what seems like it was happening. Maybe I'll check another video and see if that's what's going on

There is one verrry important point I would like DJI to add to avoid confusion with steering: One should have the option to set up/down like it's done in all air planes where you PULL the stick for going up and you PUSH for going down. As many people these days fly both platforms it could lead to an error especially under stress. So far the pilot can only invert what is placed on the left/right side but not up/down orientation.

True but this is more similar to helicopters, push forward to pitch forward, pull back to pitch back, left right etc.
