Today I got to try flying a racing quad using FPV . It was at an event where they would set you up on a buddy-box system and let you fly a sedate 5" racing quad. I have my own Vortex 150 mini-quad, which I've been flying LOS and have about 3 hours flying on it (if that). After the event, I finally purchased the Fatshark HDO goggles. Ok, they're not much of an upgrade from earlier models, but for a new pilot with no other equipment, they're pretty cool. This is my first ever FPV flight on the Vortex. It's also my first solo FPV flight -- no buddy box to bail me out. I clearly have lots to learn. I was flying in Angle mode, which may explain the great gains in altitude during turns... that and poor throttle control! :-) I had a total of three successful flights, and took everything home in one piece.
