Hey Kyle, love your videos! I have run into this same situation in my 2011 9-3 awd. It is mint otherwise. 90k miles and no rust in laser red. I can not find a driveshaft anywhere in the world. Do you have any advice? I am currently screwed!

Great Video! I could not even dream to make same job myself. I amazed by fact that you just go and fix it and continue to sort out all problems one by one despite level of difficulties! Great way of dealing with life! :)

A testament to SAAB's sheetmetal protection process in Sweden was. See how clean the exposed metal edges of the floor pan still are? The equivalent GM cars over here from that era have a nice rust crust all along those exposed edges, such as the G6 I recently looked at.

Amazing. They even up'ed the game on brake lines too
@MassiveTrackHunter5 жыл бұрын
@@KylePancis Agreed. All 4 of my NG 9-3's are super clean underneath, even though 3 of them were perpetually outdoors in the midwest. Brake lines are all mint, even at the connectors. Really looking forward to seeing your expression during your first hard launch in that X. Did you see Auto Autopsy's video of his launch? snapped him back pretty hard. :-)

Hello I need your help! even if i am in neutreal with my saab 93 manual xwd 2011 it is impossible to access the torx on the differential because the driveshaft does not turn as if it were engaged any idea? I dont have handbrake, in neutral ... So whyyyyy

! Use your seatbelt 😂 and take care of that nasty rust hole on the underside with a little metal plate and some seem sealer (samcrac method) or weld it

could the driveshaft be rebuilt, i have the same problem as you do
@reinhardhein52503 жыл бұрын
Did you manage to find out? My 93x drive shaft making a loud humming noise and I suspect it's the bearings, searched it up and found it costs about $1000 to replace! A rebuilt driveshaft would be much cheaper, yet I'm not sure if it is possible.
@lovesaab12583 жыл бұрын
@@reinhardhein5250 it seems the drive shaft is a whole part, the bearing cnanot be replaced, it should be replaced whole and it costs about $1000. it is a stupid design.

@@lovesaab1258 id say if you can re frictionweld the bearing, then yes. ive read posts where they fixed it.

starts as small vibration during a certain ranged of speed. if ignored long enough, the rear carrier bearing will spin and smash itself apart. causing the shaft to be loose inside the mount

What are the errors you got when you were driving it as FWD only? From what I've read on forums, it's not recommended to drive is FWD, but not that many people would've tried I guess :D

@@KylePancis i assumed some of the ding dongs that it made when you went for a drive were related to missing rear drive... since at least on accelerating from zero, or accelerating harder, in general, it is rear wheel drive biased
