Good job! Minute 6:33 was the most important for me. Thanks for providing the FEBEST part number. Now I'm pretty sure that the same seal goes to the Insignia and it can be easily replaced.

One more thing... take out the Haldex fuse (10A in the trunk)... if the vibration disappears when accelerating then it's 90% driveshaft. 10% it may be a damaged Haldex because someone hasn't changed the oil in it.
@JonasKakarikas2 жыл бұрын
Good input, my haldex was just serviced
@Vlad-kf7hw7 ай бұрын
I thought if you take the fuse out (Nr.11 in the rear fuse box ) and it stops vibrating, it means it is the haldex that makes the vibrations, or the awd clutch in the haldex precisely...because the prop shaft still spinns when you drive like before 🤔 i have tried it with the fuse already because i have weird issues with my haldex also...it only vibrates when accelerating not full throttle, if you floor it it suddenly stops vibrating...i try to locate the issue but its very difficult. The oil in the haldex clutch was brown to black already after 3000km driving...maybe you guys can help a bit 😊

I bought my '09 v6 Aero XWD almost a year ago and have had almost the exact same problem, but ~25-35 mph and in 2nd and 3rd. I suspect it's the prop shaft but this likely confirms it. Hopefully I can find a shop here in the US that will refurbish it for a fair price.

I know it’s not the same type of car mine is an 2004 9-5 arc. Jonas of all the videos you’ve done I have never seen you replaced any axles or control arms on any of your 9-3’s or 9-5’s mine vibrates like crazy when going above 60 mph someone from a Saab group suggested the flywheel. JW if you could give me some pointers
@JonasKakarikas2 жыл бұрын
Cv joints tend to crack and brake, but it will be easy to spot, control arms doesnt cause vibrations unless they ar rattling in a really bad condition. Its impossible to say what it is without checkibg on The car

9-5 NG AWD? I have some minor vibrations in my car as well, and most likely it is the pros-shaft (it was removed and all vibrations are gone). Do you know the status for a replacement or maintenance for this car?
@JonasKakarikas Жыл бұрын
Contact Saabparts or try find a better used one 😪 they are not serviceable the normal way
@kolbjrnberge2016 Жыл бұрын
@@JonasKakarikas Thank you much. Sorry, AWD=XWD. Not serviceable the normal way you say: so not any chance to do any kind of maintenance even for a company with special competence with shafts?
@JonasKakarikas Жыл бұрын
I think you will need to cut the Shaft to get to the bearings then weld in back together. Not sure a lot of shops would like to do that, but could be someone. So have a look around

Mine went bad took it out, couldn't find a replacement, been driving it without the shaft, service XWD light on but drives great, 2000 miles, see how it goes, will take to fuse out as someone suggested

Be careful with the new propshaft you might need to get a reinforced one made running extra power?

Thanks! No i have ran in to parts issue a few Times on my ng9-5s since alot of those parts is not being manufactured anymore. Ng9-3 is usually not a problem. New propshafts will be back, but for now they are sold out.

After searching and not finding the exact post, the spline you reference is indeed unique and very hard to find. The opposite end which is the video I linked can swap with Volvos. So basically, we're on our own in this cold, cruel world. Lol! Thanks, Jonas. Keep doing these videos! Much love from the western hemisphere!

I have a Buick Lacrosse AWD and the drive shaft is almost identical. Same splined front shaft and six bolt rear shaft hub. Of course the big differences are shaft lengths and carrier bearing mounts. Just looking at your mounts compared to mine the shapes are different and mine are aluminum. Here in the US we used to have good driveshaft shops that could build you one as long as the two ends were able to be reused. Buick/GM used the same Haldex system as Saab since GM owned Saab till they killed it in 2013. A new driveshaft that fits my Buick runs about $600 to $900 depending on where you get it from. Great job though getting your vibration solved.
