Got any hilarious school bus stories? Tell me about them in the comments! Might make for a fun minifigure scene someday! I think I was in kindergarden at 4yo and while riding the big yellow school bus home from school one day, I had a 10 cent dime in my mouth and accidentally swallowed it! (insert awkward gutteral choke/cough sound) haha!

Awesome video Hans! This school bus looks awesome! I guess this means that you're making a school moc! The yellow and teal color scheme looks great! Fun fact: my favorite color is yellow, and yours is teal! I guess that's the Tayshon and Hans bus! No wonder it's called the cool bus!

Hahaha!! Yuuuup!! That's exactly why it's called the cool bus! 😁🤙🏽 And yes! A school skyscraper is on my list of skyscrapers to build eventually! It's gonna be awesome!

Nice! Once again, you're proving that 7-wide vehicles are not only possible but can look really good as well. The black really helps to mask the half stud gap very well, but even at the back it's not horrible because the back windows don't go the full width in reality either. I'm becoming more and more of a fan with your roof designs as well. So far I've been trying to brick build actual 7-wide roofs but they get very bulky very fast. On the semi it might work because there's a bunk bed up there but on a bus it just looks like there's a battery pack in the most unconvenient place... Another thing I'm always unsure of is the spacing of the wheels. It's good that you only showed the underside towards the end. 😅 Because for the whole video I thought the wheels look perfect where they are. Only from the underside it looks like they are soooo far apart. And when I build I usually start at the bottom and constantly think that the wheels are off and the car has a sumo stance... 🙈 My delivery truck still has a six wide base and only the front and the box in the back are 7-wide because I keep looking at it from the underside. I know it's stupid but I can't turn it off... 😅 But maybe it's time for another big redesign... 🙈

I like the door you see on the bus and the creative teal on the bus to give it more color and make it more futuristic.
@TealBricksinParadisa3 жыл бұрын
yeah that door is great for bus doors. I wish lego could make doors that are bi-fold which would be awesome! These work great for now

Yes I know. You can also get that same door in green it will be much more futuristic looking

Hey, hey, hey Hans! I'm loving the build, looking so industrious but being so environmentally clean! That's something you don't really see now, but hopefully we will in the future! Massive fan of the teal and lime stripes, an excellent combo. I'm thinking of trying to make a 7-wide vehicle too... Great video as ever 👍

Hey!!! Thanks TM! Keeping nature clean is a no-brainer to me! Glad you agree! haha 😄 You totally should! At first it feels questionable to do, but centering the windshields isn't that bad!

Really love your videos, and your ideas for your city. I do find it odd that you chose an ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) style. That sloped windshield and extended front is mostly due to the front mounted internal combustion engine, you call it a truck nose, but that is because of ICE configuration. Flat face busses use a other fuels and are not always ICE busses. Flat faced busses are not aerodynamic, but considering your concept of your city and being in the future, maybe consider taking bigger risks in design for your city. Sure your design looks like a bus right now, but it doesn't look like a futuristic bus. Realistically an electric high efficiency bus would likely have more of an aircraft style nose cone, or simply be flat faced like buses have been for decades. The "truck front" only extends surface area and drag aerodynamically than just a flat front. It's your city and your build, so build it the way you want to. Most important thing is you build it how you like and what gives you the most fun. I've had fun following you so far, and enjoy your videos. I'm expressing my opinion, and that is it. Thank you for the entertainment and fun so far.

Hey Sans!! Great opinion/suggestion!! I agree it doesnt look like a futuristic bus. And I know exactly what you are talking about! I have weighed those exact thoughts on not just this one but a lot of my other vehicle videos as well! And not just on aerodynamics either! It's likely a lot of these vehicles will disappear in obsolescence by fully robotic versions or the need for them disappearing. Like shipping trucks! Or the street sweeper I've sneak peaked in some of my earlier videos. I'm well aware that several of my vehicles have aerodynamic faux pas! and would not be realistic for the year 2060! I actually do plan to make more futuristically aerodynamic vehicles (which I'm excited to do) but this will be more in longer term future of this channel. I'll be swinging back around on many of these vehicles and begin to make them even more futuristic looking. Regarding the futuristic aerodynamics of this bus, buses in general, and many large volumed industrial vehicles, I think the Telsa Semi truck nailed it on aerodynamics. Its not flat nosed yet nor is it traditionally truck nosed. Its front face is specifically designed for maximum aerodynamics. I do want to note that I disagree about your statement about the nose. Yes the nose of vehicles evolved out of necessity to contain the ICE, however just because a vehicle has a nose does not automatically mean it must be an ICE vehicle and nothing else. There are already examples of electric vehicles today that have noses. Here are some back of the head factors that play a role into why I have been more conservative on my vehicles in regards to the futuristic aerodynamic appearances: 1. Many of these are simply reMOCs of existing sets. and in these cases I don't start with the intention of straying really far from the original set. (I kinda failed with this bus though 😆) More like, I 'm making them better and then adding futuristic features as an afterthought to adapt them to Paradisa City...like sans steering wheels. 😆 2. Human psychology and familiarity: I'm choosing to stay with something people would be familiar with for more appeal to them. Many people simply are not interested in futuristic looking things. A lot of my vehicle mocs are staying with what is mostly familiar and recognizable to people. This is somewhat strategically intended to help my channel grow a wee bit faster in the beginning. More people (new viewers) are likely to view a familiar school bus video than one that looks nothing like what they are familiar with. I'm also a new channel with a small following. I think once my city actually starts to come together and fans become more and more familiar with it and who appreciate Paradisa City and its futuristic tech; I will be producing much more futuristic designs. That's not to say that I'm being 100% conservative, only on some vehicles. I'm still doing futuristic designs such as robotic street sweepers, shipping pod vehicles, hyperpod cars, etc. In some aspects I'm easing into it with traditional looking vehicles, others I'm jumping straight to the full futuristic vision. 3. I've also noticed that people are much less interested in vehicle mocs on my channel. about 1/3 the views as other video types. But I like doing vehicles and they are faster and easier for me to do in between MOCs of large buildings. I still want the vehicle videos to perform well, so keeping them familiar helps 4. Aerodynamic windshields lego pieces: The Lego Movie 2--70828 pop up party bus is a great example of window pieces to use for more aero vehicles. Unfortunately I don't have those pieces in enough quantities to pull off my vision of sleek vehicles. 5. In 2060 It's highly likely that energy density of batteries will have improved tremendously. Currently engineers are having to do everything they can to vehicles (low drag, low weight) to get acceptable driving range. However we are already starting to see vehicle designs that are willing to not try as hard because battery energy density is improving. When batteries start to reach 500 kWh/kg (my units may be incorrect) in the next 15-20 years I predict vehicle design will balance out between traditional and futuristic designs. Okay I've rambled on haha! Overall I really appreciate your input and I say we are on the same page about futuristic vehicles! 😄🙌🏼

Looks really good nothing more to say. 7-stud wide vehicles are just epic. For me the front has too many colours, and I know that it has a really good reason in lore, but sometimes look is more important than lore (no offense, I absolutely ADORE your lore, just talking about this case). Other than that love everything about the bus. Maybe I'll build my own? Hm? Can't wait for more videos😁😉👌👍

Totally agree. Especially the green stripe that's only a few dots in the front and gets interrupted by the teal pieces so much is a bit odd... And the fix he mentioned for the back fender won't work in the front... 🤔

@@TealBricksinParadisa I like the green stripe a lot... It's just really difficult to incorporate it at that height. But putting it a plate higher is probably going to lead to even more problems. 🤔
@witerabid3 жыл бұрын
@@TealBricksinParadisa Yeah, that's what I thought as well. I always like to build with the biggest possible pieces everywhere that would just be one continuous surface in real life. If it's part of the texture, like a brick wall or wooden planks, building with plates stacked on top of each other is fine, but on vehicles where you're generally looking for a smooth surface it doesn't really work...

Since it’s in the future will you ever consider building a flying car or flying vehicle.
@TealBricksinParadisa3 жыл бұрын
Hey great question, Pierce! I do have eVTOLs (check out my ambulance video!) but they are only for very particular use cases and not for personal transportation. I'm not going to do flying cars for several reasons: 1. The immense power required and the technology required to make them magically hover wouldn't exist in the year 2060, if ever. 2. Hovering by using propeller fans (like a flying drone) still requires a lot of energy and would cause an immense amount of noise and blow dust and dirt everywhere. Imagine chilling in your house and constantly having to deal with loud angry buzzing all the time as flying cars fly overhead. or the gusts of dirt being blown all over you and in your mouth as you're strolling to the cafe, because one decided to land near you. 3. Its unsafe. If there is a loss of power or malfunction not only are the passengers in peril but so are people on the ground as well as homes and buildings. A falling flying car would be a deadly projectile. 4. It will obscure our view of the natural beautiful world by crowding the skies with flying cars. As you look out over the city to admire the sunset your view is interrupted by them. I'd rather keep the skies clean and clear. It would also be an interference to bird life. 5. This is why I chose to implement the Hyperpod mode of transportation. Instead of going up to the skies, I'm making it below ground where its safer, doesnt need to be seen and is much less interruptive to daily life!

Thanks Abir!! 😄😄 I'm honored you think they are worthy for IDEAS submission!! I have thought about it before! However, for the most case I don't think I have any MOCs that would truly succeed. Lego is already releasing a new school bus in January 2022. and Lego is overwhelmed already with the huge volume of submissions making it to 10K and they end up not making most of them. I may eventually submit a MOC in the future! I really appreciate such an awesome suggestion!! 😊
