Congratulations on your first catches on your brand new lake. For one of your competitions you should come down and fish Exeter Ship canal. Loads of carp and big ones at that but difficult to catch, see if you boys could do better

Only thing with match fishing is that the lakes are rammed. Surely if you're so good and your tactics matter so much......that the better you are, the less fish there should be in the lake. Matches are just "what person has the most fish in their 8²ft of water

Unfortunately it's the only way to catch on commercials round where I live the river has been effed over to the point there's nothing in it and the canal is just repeatedly poisoned with chemicals from companies outflows or people dumping stolen cars in it. I don't think the canal has been stocked with any fish the last thirty years. Commercial fisheries and club ponds are the only chance these days.
