Great to see the sea of Rivians. I have an R1T built in the first run of about 800 customer cars. There's now about 75,000. I assumed all the posers were just parked outside REI with expensive aftermarket gear, used once, etc. But no, they're out there in all walks, from kids and dogs on weekend adventures to breaking toe-arms. Tesla offered to build a Foundation for my #cybertruck deposit, but I'm not paying the premium, and I'm happy to wait while Tesla iterates the early design. It would be great to see UP open up a Rivian side to the business … getting involved now with the R3X … : )

Rear wheel steering is the worst thing for such performance offroad! There is a reason while this crap has nothing on the Ford raptor! There were literally no jumps.

There are high performance off road vehicles that use rear steering to increase the maneuverability in muddling , hill climb, crawling and general trail riding. Rear steer can allow you to explore different, better lines over a non rear steer vehicle. It’s also beneficial for vehicles with a longer wheel base. Rear steer comes with trade offs. You are incorporating more components that could fail under an immense amount of load. As you saw we encountered this very failure. But it also allowed us to find the weak points and improve upon them. I’m all for rear steer and I think you’ll see it more often in the coming future.

@@FromWhereICharge there are already tons and tons of vehicles with multiple steering axles, tatra has 8 wheel steering and 8x8 on q really solid platform unlike this truck, Mercedes, Volvo and other manufacturers also have vehicles with multi steering very tough too.

Yeah that's the 4 wheel steering, it can turn with all four wheels, and more of it at low speeds than high speeds.

The rear steering is a huge weakpoint for high speed off roading.its great but the mechanisms arent up to the task.you can see the wheels flexing to steer when jumping.probably why it broke.needs a mechanical lock out with software support for front steering only when jumping or being a goon.
