I absolutely agree with you about Furius Baco! In my opinion, it is such an underrated coaster! It gets so much hate for being too rough and all but I actually think that it's the most thrilling coaster in the whole park (besides Red Force)! I had so much fun riding this thing because I literally had not expected anything! It is not even as rough as everyone says!

Furius Baco is much better than Red Force, imo... I find the LSM launch on Red Force quite boring compared to that insane hydraulic laumch on Furius Baco

I can agree with you 100%. Both the park and the coaster are outstanding. But the operations and general business policies are disgraceful. During our visit, we did not have an express pass, which led to waiting times of up to 3 hours per ride. The operations seemed to be slow on purpose to encourage as many guests as possible to buy fast passes. At Stampedia, both trains stood in the station for 2 minutes each time before they started, although they had already been completely dispatched. It gave the impression that a waiting time of 2 hours should definitely be achieved for normal guests.

@@StamfordBridge The park has a huge catchment area. Not only in the whole east of Spain, but also in the whole south of France there is nothing comparable. So, every day, huge crowds flock to a park that is unique to them in every way. For many of the park visitors it is the only visit of the year to such a park. They don't know any different. So they are willing to pay enormous sums for this or wait hours for a single ride. We enthusiasts should not forget that the normal park visitor does not have the experience and thinks very differently than we do.

@@SNORKYMEDIA It's now a general trend at many parks with the Fastpass system. Take a look at what's new at Six Flags over the past few years, for example. The S&S Freespin and the Raptors aren't bad coasters, but they both lack capacity for the park size. As a result, they automatically create long waiting times, which in turn forces many guests to buy fast passes. But yes, Disney started it. For example, Crush's Coaster in Paris is a Maurer Spinning Coaster. Not a bad coaster either, but with a maximum capacity of 600 people per hour, the capacity is completely insufficient for this resort. We have therefore experienced waiting times of 3 hours even with good operations.

I'm SO thrilled that you got to experience PortAventura World. I was there a few weeks ago with my boyfriend (who has only started riding rollercoasters the last year) and he LOVED Red Force! I travel there from the UK every few years, its my favourite park in Europe so far! I must say though, that I was disappointed with Uncharted, but Shambhala, Red Force, Hurakan Condor, Dragon Khan and Furius Baco are all so great!

I was there in september 2022 and longest queue was 1h to Shambala and that was only one, usualy it was like 20 minutes. When i watch these vlogs I see how l lucky I was :D

I'm torn on Shambhala on one hand it gave me very little in terms of airtime but on the other it's the smoothest coaster I've ever rode and the sense of speed is insane! landing it at my number 3 overall behind Nemesis & Red Force.

Agreed about Express Pass--it's an amazing perk if you buy it, but it's expensive and they sabotage the whole park to make it work as well as it does. It's the most extreme bias in favor of the express pass holders I've ever seen, including Disney. I ran into the same loose-articles problem on Stampida. The ride lockers at this park are coin-operated only, no cashless or relocatable rental option, and they're 2 euros every time you open them. So it's easy to be stuck with no way to rent them. Most of the coasters have bins on the platform, but Stampida does NOT. Fortunately I had zipper pockets that I could jam everything into, but it made for a somewhat uncomfortable fit with the lap bars.

I visited just over a year ago as part of a larger Barcelona trip with 2 (then) friends. They wanted to do the Sesame Street ride and we did it, after that we rode Red Force (For which we waited for 3 hours). They were so mad about it they wanted to leave and practically forced me to leave as well. Didn't get to do any other rides because of them (they also were incredibly toxic in the rest of the vacation - luckily I broke contact soon after). It honestly hurts to see PortAventura stuff because of it, but despite that I actually really enjoyed this video. I hope I get to go back someday for Shambhala and all the other rides I missed.

I'm sorry about your bad experience with your then friends. I would suggest you to give PortAventura another chance, I went this summer for the first time and it was a really fun park. Perhaps go alone, or with someone you really trust, and make new, happy memories 😊

Shambhala and red force are truly amazing rides, somehow managed to get into the front row on red force 4 times in a row on our first ever rides. Going to floridas parks in September and excited for Velicicoaster as I heard thats as good if not better than Shambhala

Apparently they want to bring in as much money as possible with the fast passes. I'm going next month with my kids and also have bought them, otherwise it would end up being a disappointing experience for everyone. I personally don't think things (operations for example) would change with Universal buying back this park. I visited thebpark for the first time back in the nineties, when it was still under the universal brand and even then, operations were horrible. It's just Spain... And when you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. It's a shame for a park that, like you said, could be one of the best in the world.

Hello, great blog. You didn't like Dragon Khan? I remember riding it years ago and it seemed intense enough for me to feel pure adrenaline, but I'm talking about quite a few years ago and I'm not an expert on roller coasters. It is possible that over the years the intensity of this one has decreased, but I definitely enjoyed it a lot and it is one of my favorite roller coasters. In its day, this roller coaster was a boom throughout Europe, even in the world, due to its high number of investments. It is definitely an iconic roller coaster. I haven't been to Busch Gardens Tampa so I haven't had a chance to try any of the attractions there. A warm hug guys!

I was there last week (the two days before you) and was very disappointed by the park. Operations were so slow that it is no wonder that every coaster had a 1hour+ queue. On top of that the queue times in the app and on the signs were all over the place and never accurate. It just felt they were intentionally trying to sell as much fast passes as possible. It's a shame cause the park looks gorgeous and they have a great coaster lineup but I had much more fun at Parque Warner the week before.

Yeah Warner and also Terra Mittica where much better then i expected. this park is my worst european experience (and i'm from Europe) of any theme park and the second worse isn't even in shouting distance. It a good thing it looks good and it has two good coasters, the rest is either bleuk or to worndown for the amount of time you have to wait. Otherwise it would be on my shitlist indefently.

Dragon Khan is not screwing around. Maybe it was that I rode it later in the day when it was warmed up, but I thought it was one of the most intense coasters I've ridden--I actually had to sit down for a while after getting off of it. And Shambhala is just beautiful. I think I might still rank it below Superman: The Ride at SFNE, but I haven't ridden any other B&M hypers so I can't compare it to them. The forces are not intense for the most part, graceful floater air, with the most intense pop being the speed hill right after the ampersand turn. If I have a criticism it's that the last bit after the midcourse brakes is kind of an anticlimax. I like El Diablo--a good long ride, it does kind of lose its way midway through, but the finale is great. People talk down Stampida for roughness but I didn't find it was that rough at all, and I had a back-row ride on red. Fun ride.

BTW Red Force has a DROP of 344'. It only twists 90 degrees to the left instead of 270 degrees to the right which makes for a more airtime focused drop. It's a shame Port Aventura World is so poorly run. I'd like to see B&M build a coaster with the drop and length stats both equal to or exceeding Fury 325, a lift hill like Fury 325, trains like Shambhala and Diamondback w a layout combining the best of Diamondback, Goliath at SFOG and Goliath at La Ronde. Unfortunately it'd coast at least $40 Million dollars U.S. to build. Thanks for posting!

PAventura is my main park, and during the nearly 30 years of operation it was changing a lot, but when Universal was here the operations was much better and the extincted SeaOdissey (Simulator) and Templo del Fuego were both Universal's adittions to the park. They put effort on the Halloween season too, but then leave Spain.. and the last decade is maybe the worst one, but now with Uncharted and a new management the park is getting slowly better and better! It has all the potential, some restaurants are really nice, the show with real singers and acrobats is great and the small fireworks show at the end not bad. The theming on the Far West Hotel is just amazing! with lagoons as the pools. I like you enjoyed your visit and I know the next time you visit will be better!! I was twice in USA only 2006 and 2017 but Universal was soo good I can´t wait for the Epic Universe!!

I’m personally kinda disappointed with Shambhala? Maybe it’s an expectation thing, like how some enthusiasts believe Taron is overhyped. Shambhala does nothing for me for such a massive layout. Floaters are meek, there’s no sense of adrenaline apart from its speed. My favourite is the first drop which pulls some force. Overall it’s fun but not great

Did the park last year was the biggest dissapointment in all me coaster tripps so far. Well the coaster wheren't that great ok Redforce and shambala are defintly very ok. But the rest kinda sucked in my opnion. Now considering the theming of the park that still should have made me love the park. I had tickets for 3 day's (last day i had for free and it was actually cheaper to buy a 2 day pass to get the entreance to the ferrai part). I didn't even go in the thirth day couldn't be bothered and i have never done that with any park. It was my last major park for the seazone so i might just have been that it was one park to many but i didn't really liked the coasters (at least not for the hype the park gets) and i reaaly really hate parks where you have to spend twice as long in line because they want you to buy express tickets. i went pretty much of seizone i can understand it in seizone or if you only have a day but i would much more prefer paying more for general admission and just get 3 express tickets and you can't buy extra's.

I absolutely love this park, but some of the rules/policies are extremely stupid!! I saw one of the ops tell a woman she couldn’t ride shambhala barefoot and made her put her flip flops on. Then he realized the flip flops were going to fly away and told her to HOLD HER FLIP FLOPS!! She still went barefoot… but holding the damn flip flops!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think I was lucky, since I used the “single rider” and had to wait 30min max to ride Shambhala and Uncharted… but me and my husband left the park pretty mad at some of their stupid rules. I have to say… Spain is a beautiful country with terrible people (not all, but a lot of them). We have been to Spain dozens of times and we always leave the country feeling pissed off about the way they treated us
