What a great tractor. Used one many times growing up. Always reliable and plenty powerful.

I had the fortune of bening at the dealership the day the 806 was presented. We gathered around it and thought this is the top. There could never be anything better. Thanks for helping me remember.

On my father's side of the fence, we had all Blue tractors and, in fact, still own and operate the exact same Ford tractors, the oldest from 1965, that still runs like new. But I did always admire the shiny red machines that neighbor farmers owned. One farmer had a 656 and a 706 -- both long ago sent to the scrap heap. The other neighbor had a big 806 that I always admired. It was his only big tractor, so it did most all of the field work for at least 30 years, but also long ago junked. Red Machines are nice -- if you can keep 'em operating. I still like our family of Ford tractors which should give us another 40 or 50 years of service.

Great tractors. We have two ‘64 models here at the farm still earning their keep. I’ve got a picture of this tractor from a calendar hanging up in the cellar way.

Love it....my grandpa had a 806 gas. I spent many hours sitting on the fender as my grandpa worked the field

We had both a 706 and a 806 Diesel. The 806 could pull a five bottom 16" moboard plow in Low range - third gear in sandy ground..

I have seen this tractor at several RPRU. I own 2 64 806 D & my brother has 2 also. One of mine is second owner with 11k+ hours, still being used with original engine from factory.

Don't forget there were 806's sold with gas motors! I saw one and that was it. Also saw some narrow front ends.
@alexanderlapp50484 жыл бұрын
There sure was. My dad owned a gas 806 with a narrow front. The really special thing about the 806 is it had a second PTO for higher speed applications such as the grinder/mixer.

Nice machine. This tractor is missing its original IHC RD injection pump. Many of them were replaced during their working days. I have 806 International tractor, serial 689 S-Y; Wheatland, diesel, TA, hand clutch, three point hitch, RD pump. I've had a 560 and two 660's, and they are no comparison to the 806. It's a heavy duty tractor, and I really like the driver's position and the steering, which were both big improvements over the 60 series.

One of my favorite Farmalls. 806, could not kill them. You could lug them down to 300 rpm and she would not stall.

Farmall 806 Serial number 501 originally had a 2 point fast hitch. I knew the man and dealership that sold it.

Kevin Bissett so this is the second 806 made. Is 501 a gas or diesel?
@kevinbissett2935 жыл бұрын
@@andrewevans1658 501 is a diesel. It is in Wisconsin.

Is this the first production Farmall 806 tractor ever built or the first production Farmall 806 DIESEL tractor built? I have seen a photo of a Farmall 806 gasoline tractor, with a narrow front axle, which is claimed to be the first one built. Perhaps it was a pre-production model. First production one should have a chassis serial number #501

Several years ago I happened to see an 806 gas with wide front at The Western Steamthreshers Reunion in Rollag Mn. Serial #501.

Sometimes you have to. if you get one in bad shape, it has to be repainted.
