I have plugged many tubeless truck and car tires. Dismount the tire and put a tubeless tire patch on the inside of the tire. The steel chords in a tire will cut up the plug. The Plug just helps to keep water and pebbles out of the puncture hole. Actually, I would consider a plug just to slow down a fast leak to a slow leak so you can get home or get to where you can dismount the tire and put a tubeless tire patch on the inside of the tire.

Glad you got home safe. Just this September I picked up a nail in my brand new Road 5 rear, literally the day after it was installed. I was still close to home so I just left the nail in the tire and rode back. Luckily it was easy to plug, no issues with the tire.

Thanks, brother. Yea, i went about 3 years with no nails. I'm glad it happened the way it did. New skill acquired.

Dont use the reamer on a motorcycle tire, its too thin. Just stick the plug right in the hole.
@mountainbearoutdoors14 күн бұрын
yeah thats why they included it in the kit......
@norevlimitr160214 күн бұрын
@@mountainbearoutdoors Thats for car and truck tires, they are 4x or more thicker than a motorcycle tire. No reemer no lube just stick the plug in and go. It will stay in there for the life of the tire.
@6GearCutloe12 күн бұрын
That actually makes sense. Thanks for sharing that ,family.

I put 6 of those plugs in my tire and rode it until it was gone. I think I kept picking up screws and nails from lane splitting since everything goes to the edge of the lanes. That's the reason God gave us spit, to check for bubbles.

You don’t have a tire pressure display on that bike??? My 2014 ktm 1190 alerts me immediately if tire pressure gets low and shows the temps on the menu.
@6GearCutloe12 күн бұрын
Nope. No TPS, unfortunately. Hopefully, Yamaha put one in the new Gen.

The mushroom plugs work much better i found, they are quicker and more permanent, the plugs you used are better for a rip, but for a hole like that the mushroom plug works better. But with all these temp repair systems they are only as a get you home or up to a certain max speed mushroom say 50 mph max, though i have gone faster with it, not to be recommended.
@6GearCutloe12 күн бұрын
Yea, i heard the mushrooms work pretty well.
@flitsies12 күн бұрын
@@6GearCutloe I use them all the time it takes about 10 minute to fix a puncture including pumping up to pressure. I always give a little bit of tire weld or similar just for my own reassurance that i won't have to change the patch and every one I have had to do has lasted till I had to change the tire due to wear.
