Flea Markets, for me, have been the prime example of feast-or-famine for me; sometimes I find a vendor or two that is right up my alley, and the prices are right (sometimes, downright steals). Other times, just flat-out nothing.

Give-aways, educational comics and biographical comics are a collecting niche I really enjoy, it's especially fascinating to me as glimpses into the past of our society. I would have grabbed that Rails Across America comic immediately.

Honestly this is what usually happens - if you do find comics, they're almost always over-priced.

Still a bit too cold for me to hit the flea market, but then i also have to drive 45 minutes to get to one. If it was 5 minutes away like yours I'm sure I'd be there all the time.😊😊😊

I scored quite a bit of Gold and Silver at the Nugget back in the 90's. Not so much now. It seemed like there was not a Wednesday Morning without a car crash in front of the market.

Personally, I would charge $25 each to "allow people to take a first pass through my books". Later, I would lower the price after they have been picked.

See James...you know better! I've noticed most times when comics are fairly high priced, they're not worth it. Unless he is willing to entertain a fair offer. If not... always go for the $1-$5 pile. Ya never know what you might find!

Glad you found something decent, at least. And glad you went to church with your mom. Do you have any Half Price Books in your area? I don't think they extend to your part of the country but I dunno. If you ever travel south, especially Texas, be sure and check them out anytime you see them. It's hit and miss, but you can find some awesome stuff for half of cover price there. It's probably my favorite place to hunt for comics.

Speaking of weird books, last week I only got this book to say, I bought the Fly #1 at the flea market. To my surprise when I got home noticed it was a steranko cover 😮

I just got a Marvel Spotlight 6(low grade) for $1 and Ghost Rider 2(1972 - mid grade) for $7 at a con recently.

I run into same problem at local flea markets. They have books priced too high and condition is too poor for m pc. I rent space at booth in PA as well and usually take my 1.00 books up there to unload along with slabs. Though i still like hunting for books.

nice pickups, bro. man, i miss going to flea markets every weekend. we used to have them here all the time now, they don't happen anymore. we still have flea markets in michigan just not in my town.

That Superman 3D was the 1990s reprint? I know there was a reprint. As for that first pile of Romance comics, I paused; if those had been in slightly better condition...there is a market for those. Whether they come into your shop or shows I don't know.

Part of the problem you have now is that you’re a dealer trying to buy from other dealers, so unless you have a real case of arbitrage, there shouldn’t be much of discrepancy between your pricing and theirs, not allowing you to profit.
@MintHunterComics6 ай бұрын
Even operating as a hobby I NEVER would buy anything that wasn't in the realm of reality. But, yes, I've been a vendor for 2 years and need to buy books exclusively at good deals only. So there's EXTRA PRESSURE!
