First Flight indoors DJI Mini 4 Pro

I couldn't wait to open and fly my birthday present, so just past midnight, on my birthday, I launched my new DJI Mini 4 Pro. Not too bad for a very first flight. You separate the men from the boys by the price of their toys. 😊

I just brought a mini 4 pro the other week and I think it's great. Im just about to take it to the park with my metal detector and see if I can put it up and film myself finding something with it, 🤔 I dunno but it sounds like fun 💯. Here goes

@Gary Sumner - Happy '28th' Birthday (again) from another old fart! Haha! I also just snagged a Mini 4 Pro this week and love it! Can't believe how much technology DJI has crammed into the little bird vs my beloved old Mini 1. And it still weighs only 249 grams! I've only gotten a few flights in so far but did get in my first night flight last night. WOW the camera is excellent! I've got the basic RC-N2 controller as I use a big old 10" Android tablet. What a great easy-to-see-every-detail combination! I've now got to make a sun screen/hood as the sun is really bright here at Lat 16° N. Anyway enjoy your new toy! Thanks for the birthday wishes Jimbo! Yes this is a great little drone! I had the Mavic Mini, then upgraded to the Mini 2, but this Mini 4 Pro has so many more great features! Thanks for subscribing! As you can see, I got some great night footage at Cornish Christmas. It's gotten hundreds of likes on Facebook. And active track is awesome when hiking around all these trees, and missing them all! I got the RC-2, since I was using my iPhone with the Mini 2. Nice bright screen, although not as big as a 10". It's amazing the tech they can cram into these little drones and keep it under 249 grams! Enjoy! And Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you!

Thanks for uploading Gary. I'm a confused Grey Noob and am interested in indoor flights for surveys etc at mainly larger locations. I was thinking that the Avata 2 would be best but have no interest in any of the fast FPV stuff. The camera on your Mini 4 Pro is supposed to be better at 48mp vs 12mp on the Avata and after watching how you handled it, am I better overall with the Mini 4 Pro for inside work or get the super safe idiot proof, Avata 2? For outside I was hoping later in the year to get the hopeful Air 3S when released. Thanks again and look forward to hearing from yourself or your followers if time.

Thanks for your question Arkley. I have never flown the Avata, so I'm afraid I can't help you there, but I do know it would be much easier to maneuver indoors, especially in smaller areas, since it has the enclosed props, but the Mini 4 Pro is quite easy to maneuver, and the obstacle avoidance works great. Also, the Mini 4 is much quieter than the Avata, although, from the videos I've watched, the Avata 2 is a bit quieter than the original Avata. Hopefully, someone else who has flown both could help you decide. Good luck!

It's actually a landing light for landing in low light situations. It only comes on when it's dark enough, and it works great!

@@jasonzdora Yeah, it's a cool feature. The Mini 4 won't auto land if it thinks the landing area isn't safe, so this way, it can see the landing area even in the dark.

Flew my Mini Pro 4 inside as well, but without the prop guards made my arse pucker. I got an Avata 2, and made this one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZXHmGuOpb5_e9E I crashed a ton of times, but finally got a good run. A ton easier. And thank God for DJI Refresh. Lol.

@@gama45 Getting close to retiring over here as well , and looking forward to it. And I hear you. These things aren't cheap. Only dropped the money on this one because in an Uber an Amazon truck almost crushed us. Not hurt at all, and an easy 2500 I talked the insurance adjuster out of to keep me from getting an attorney. Bought it soon after. Great little drone.

@@txjt90 Yeah, I got my first drone, a DJI Mavic Mini with my Stimulus check from President Trump in May 2020. Then, in December 2020, after crashing it too many times, I sent it back to DJI and upgraded to a Mini 2. Then my wife got me this Mini 4 Pro for my birthday last December.
