@@CreateandKaptivate Currently loving the 4 Pro, wishing I had more time to fly but at my free day's off work the weather is working against me. Still have so much more to learn as my hyperlapse's are very basic settings but tried some with waypoint settings but it was very windy today. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqmZeoWwqs6Jppo Also wondering if you use any filter? I'm using the ND64. Hope one day i'll be able to create such smooth hyperlapse video's as @CreateandKaptivate does.
@CreateandKaptivate5 ай бұрын
Haha sounds a lot like my situation. Either I have no time to go fly or the weather sucks. Anyway, I checked out your video and those are good hyperlapses, the one thing I would suggest is going much higher with your ND filter so you can really slow down the shutter speed. Often in the daytime I will use an ND1000 so I can get my shutter speed down to around 1 second. Even around 1/2 a second you'll notice a huge difference, it'll make everything much smoother. One thing to note is you have to use an interval of 3 seconds or greater otherwise your shutter speed is limited to about 1/3 of a second.

@@CreateandKaptivate I am a professional photographer, own a phantom 4 and now recently got the M4P. I was experimenting with the Hyperlapse/Waypoints feature, I find I could reverse the order of the points really interesting. With this function, we could save some battery juice. We could: 1-First of all, fly to the last waypoint and set it to as point 1. 2-Then fly to the second waypoint, which is closer to Home as point 2. 3-Reverse the waypoints, where the second waypoint became the first. That way, when we are setting the path, we don't have to fly to the first waypoint set it, then fly to the second, set it, and then fly back again to the first point to start the mission. That could save some battery juice. I hope DJI can implement this in the main Waypoint feature.
@CreateandKaptivate3 ай бұрын
Yeah, i wonder why we don't have the reverse option in the regular waypoints. I've used it for hyperlapses on my mini 3 pro, but on the regular waypoints you can select what waypoint to start from, but not the order, at least as far as I know.

Great tutorial, thanks! I have a few questions regarding motion blur - do you get any blurred photos with those long shutter speeds? Does the drone stop each time it takes a picture? What's the longest shutter speed suitable for hyperlapses?
@CreateandKaptivate11 ай бұрын
I believe the drone does stop when taking the photo. But there are other factors like wind that can cause blurred photos. Personally I've found 1 second to work quite well, but sometimes even with an ND1000 I have to go to 1/1.25" or higher to get correct exposure. Night Hyperlapses are a whole new set of challenges but one thing I found is bright lights will get overexposed and blurry using longer shutters speeds of 1second or higher.
@kottik111 ай бұрын
@@CreateandKaptivate Thank you! In after effects there is a “pixel motion blur” effect, which can help if shutter speed wasn’t long enough.

Thank you. I have found it useful. I did find though that every second or so the camera does noticeably jump. Why is this.
@CreateandKaptivate8 ай бұрын
I'm glad to hear you found it helpful, the reason the camera seems to jump is because I didn't properly match the frame rate of the hyperlapse with my timeline in editing. So it's not the hyperlapse itself it's just a mistake in editting.
@davelewin677 ай бұрын
Great tutorial. Do you know why there is a periodic stutter (ie a very slight pause every half second or so)? Thanks
@CreateandKaptivate7 ай бұрын
The actual hyperlapse doesn't have that stutter. It was caused in editing, because I didn't properly match the frame rate of my timeline to the framerate of the hyperlapse. My timeline was 24fps and the hyperlaspes are 25fps, so they're losing a frame every second.
@davelewin677 ай бұрын

@Fishandchips90288 ай бұрын
Great tutorial, can someone explain the exact meaning of the setting tho, interval, speed, etc i cant find anything and its what i need to understand
@CreateandKaptivate8 ай бұрын
For the hyperlapse, the interval setting is how long between photos and the length is how long the final hyperlapse will be. And it takes 25 photos for each second or 25 frames per second. So a 10 second hyperlapse would be 250 photos and if the interval was set to say 3 seconds it would take 750 seconds to compete the hyperlapse. Now you will set the speed using circle and course lock mode and in waypoint mode the speed is determined by the total time to complete the hyperlase (so 750 seconds in my example) and the total distance covered by the waypoints. Hopefully that helps a bit.
@alonsosantos659011 ай бұрын
So what would be the ideal, a short interval, a long duration and a fixed target or objective (avoiding moving the camera)? Using mostly a 1 second shutter speed.
@CreateandKaptivate11 ай бұрын
To be able to select a 1 second shutter speed you need to use a minimum interval of 3 seconds. Now the idea is to be capturing some movement between shots so the slower the movement the longer you want the interval but also the higher you make the interval the less images you'll be able to capture before running out of battery.

I've never use the course lock because I've always wanted to control where the camera was looking, not just looking one direction. But with using the point of interest and course lock, I'll be able to capture much longer hyperlapses! This is because I won't have to pre-fly the course to map it! With DJI Mavic Air 2S, I only get about 20 minutes of useable flight time with my batteries. So getting another 3-4 minutes on Hyperlapse time will really help increase over the 10 second mark! I would like them to be 20 second plus Ideally! Thanks for the great video

I'm glad this was helpful, I too find, trying to figure out how to use the least amount of battery for setup is important when it comes to hyperlapses.

One thing I notice is that the recordings are having hiccups. I have no idea how to explain this better. It seems like the video runs at 30fps everywhere and then goes to 28fps and back to 30fps. If you look closely you will notice this. How come?? I was recently recording and at home the image turned out to be irregular and gray and then 3x in 6 minutes after formatting the SD, I hope it has been solved!
@CreateandKaptivate4 ай бұрын
I do believe you are correct, and that it has to do with the frame rate of the actual video and the playback framerate. The hyperlapses are actually created at 25fps, but my computer seems to play them back fine. Where I've noticed the hiccups you're talking about is after I put the videos into my editor and set the frame rate incorrectly. For instance in this video I had my timeline set to 24fps (by mistake) so I do notice the clips in this video seem to have that hiccup effect, which I think is cause by the mismatched fps. So if the video is 25fps and my timeline is 24fps there is a frame dropped every second. I don't know if any of this helps but that's my experience with this issue you mentioned.

@CreateandKaptivate Жыл бұрын
I actually use the ND1000 for most of my daytime Hyperlapses, that is if I am trying to use a shutter speed around 1 sec. Even on cloudy days I will still get really good exposure, in fact on sunny days I have to raise my shutter speed to 1/1.67 or even 1/2.5 to not have things over exposed in the shot. Also, reducing the amount of sky in your shot will help bring down the overall exposure.
