First Garage Upgrades: Lighting, Door Opener & Water!

Just got into my new to me garage and I'm already making it better! In this video, I'm tackling three major upgrades: adding bright new LED lighting from Amazon (Easy DIYer addition), a Chamberlain wall-mounted garage door opener to free up space, and adding a convenient hose bib for easy access to water. Good job so far. Suggestions Paint walls and ceiling white. Add more lighting A mini split Insulate garage door A folding work bench (takes less space , is there when you need it, and won’t accumulate stuff when not using it.

Those are great ideas. I hadn't thought of a folding workbench, but that makes a lot of sense! I'll definitely add more lighting and hopefully a mini-split. Just replaced the home's HVAC system yesterday so it might be a bit before we can afford that! Thanks!

You might want to consider a 12-foot ladder for the garage, looks like you have a scuttle to get in the attic space. Never know if you ever have to get in there.

Do you have a preferred Color Temp for your lighting?

I like daylight, I very much dislike soft white for when I'm working on things, it's nice for winding down or a romanic dinner, but otherwise it's daylight for me. So between 5500-6500 kelvin. What about you?

@@BenInBeta I prefer Daylight as well. For me it casts "truer" colors when painting or staining any projects I'm working on. I will go as low as 3500 in some areas of the house... Like with wall sconces to create a warner more inviting space
