FIRST Global Airlines A380 landing at Prestwick Airport | 1st of May 2024

An amazing visitor at Glasgow Prestwick Airport yesterday was this Global Airlines Airbus A380 registered 9H-GLOBL (previously it flew for China Southern as you can tell from the livery).
The aircraft is supposed to be flown to Malta eventually.

Interesting to see this. I did a drive through Mojave last spring and saw a whole fleet of China Southern A380s in preparation for mothballing and wondered what would become of them in the future. Pleased to know they’ll have a new lease on life in the near future.

Yes it is one of the panels which looks like it was not secured.

Reason for the gear down ferry is because airbus cant guarantee the gear will go up otlr come back down with having sat still for so long. The gear doors have to be removed as well for drag reasons. She will now need leg swings to prove integrity.
