@northernlights8126 No, Engine Alliance on the Emirates, not RR. And like all turbofans, they take several seconds to spool up so the power is already quite high due the drag of the flaps etc. Go-around power has to be applied immediately in a go-around decision.

I have only ever landed in a Wide Body Aeroplane (Lockheed Tristar) at Birmingham once, in the late '70s, diverted from Heathrow because of Fog and I watched the little circle at the end of the runway pass under almost immediately the engines went into full reverse and we eventually stopped and we turned onto the taxiway at the other end of the runway immediately so I had the impression that the runway was not very long. Seemed to be the same here as well. Impressive video, thankyou.

It has been lengthened since to allow for larger aircraft such as this but, it still feels short!
@jamesfearn7757Ай бұрын
@@PrinceBarin77 There is still a displaced threshold both ends I believe which means landing distance available is only around 7000 ft. Also, it wasn't lengthened for the A380 but for potential Asia flights. Air India 777 flights at the time were taking heavy payload restrictions. A380 itself doesn't need long runways, especially for short hop to Dubai.
