Hi!!! Here is a suggestion for your classroom. (I love the classroom set up videos and would love to be a teacher) Try having a spot where you track their height in the beginning middle, and end of the year. You could also make a booklet at the end of the year titled something like "How I've Grown" and have a picture from the beginning of the year, their height, their "favorites", something they want to tell their future self, and a pic from the end of the year, their height, their favorites, and a response on what was the best part of the year, what would they tell their past self etc. I am entering high school but these were some of my favorite things in elementary school. xoxoxo Breeze

You could call it the calming corner! For the fairy, you could move her to a different place every morning before they come in so that they know that fairies are always watching to make sure they’re making good choices and being kind! It kind of keeps the wonder alive! Kind of like the elf on the shelf for children who celebrate christmas :)

Just a suggestion lol but what if you put your word wall on the wall above your library that was it’s seen from all over the room, the quote that you wanted to print out could go on the wall where those hooks are over by the entrance door, and then finally you could put your wall flower idea on the square space above their book boxes. You have done so much in such little time and you are going to be an amazing teacher!!! Can’t wait to see you do amazing things!

You can still put word cards on a ring and be able to mix them up. I take them off the ring, mix them and use them. Then, put them back on the ring so they don't get lost. Such a cute little rhyme!

You should use the fairy the same way you use the elf on the shelf. Place her in a new spot of the room everyday before the students come in, eventually they will pick up on the fact that she's in weird/unusual places and they will keep an eye out for her everyday.

I really looked up to my teacher. In Germany you often have the same teacher throughout first, second, third and fourth class. She was my hero because I thought she knows everything. She inspired me to become a teacher. ( You gave me the last push. I hope that’s understandable.) I’m sure you will inspire a lot of little kids to become a teacher. When my son went to kindergarten he would come home sick sooo many times throughout the year. He hasnt been as sick before he started school and being around so many kids and germs. How often do you clean your room do kids do chores or do you do it? My sons teacher gave the kids cleaning chores and i dont think that was efficient enough nor very smart for kids to do with chemicals and getting the job done. I think I would want to clean the floors and tables and chairs 1-2 times a week and spray lysol everywhere lol just to keep the sick germs from spreading but I'm not sure what teachers usually do.

Kaylee Shares Although this sounds a lovely idea to keep the kids safe and healthy, I wonder whether teachers have the time to thoroughly clean the classroom twice a week with all of their planning and preparation. I’m not sure whether this is the case in American schools or not, but in British schools this is the job of the school cleaners (‘janitors’). Just a thought, although I thoroughly agree with your point about sickness, my daughter seems to always have caught a bug from school !

In every school I ever went to it was the janitor’s job to do any real cleaning (floors, boards, deep cleaning desks, etc) but teachers would often take Lysol wipes to the desks at the end of the week (some even did it every day)

I’ve taught Kindergarten for 2 years I clean the tables everyday and disinfect the doorknobs and other things. They still got sick. They’re little and therefore picking their nose. Or forgetting to cover their mouths, or covering their mouth with their hands and wiping it somewhere. They also put a lot of things in their mouth. Even if you tell them not to, they’ll do it when you’re not looking. I got sick a lot too. It just comes with the territory. Can’t blame the teacher for that. I love them but they’re pretty gross😂

You gotta remember that students don’t just stay in classrooms all day everyday. Teachers can clean their rooms spotless everyday but students still go outside and touch slides or swings, go to the cafeteria and touch walls and chairs, other students then rub their faces. There’s really no way to stop your child from getting sick in any environment you have no control of

Haylei Briann a little pump of hand antibacterial before and after playing on the play ground, eating, and going to the bathroom would help. Once you have a kid get deathly sick many times within the year and only when hes in school aa mom has to be worrying about these things. Because its summer time, school has been out and he hasnt gotten sick since school let out and he didn't get this sick this frequently before school only when hes around 25 kids in a classroom and yea probably touching the playground and lunch tables.

I got my teacher toolbox a few years ago. When I went to Lowe's they didn't have it then, either. I had to get mine on Amazon too, but I didn't have to wait that long! A lot of times Amazon stuff that is on backorder ships a lot sooner than the estimated time, so hopefully you wont have to wait several weeks. You've got some mad rapping skills! :) Your students are going to love you!

Don’t know if you have addressed any of this, but if you could can you maybe go over teacher terms or stuff you say for us non teachers. Such as what is class dojo, what are sensory bins etc. Thanks! :)

Julianna Devereux Class dojo is an online tool that teachers/parents use to track behavior. Students earn “dojos” for good behavior, and they can also lose them for negative behavior. Most teachers use it as a token system (for example: if you get 5 dojos in a week, you get to pick something from the treasure box) The website can send a report to parents so they can be aware of their child’s behavior! Sensory bins are tubs filled with material/activities that help stimulate the senses of students.

For your desk with organization, maybe so it with the class, take old empty cereal boxes and cut them on a slope. Cover with decorative paper! You have easy way to keep the class under control and have a way to get something useful for organizing!
