Great garden! I always freak out when I see your tomatoes are almost ready in May...I just planted mine and they're about 4 inches tall, but then I have to remember where you live. Gavin is so cute hauling the beans in his dump truck and planting seeds.

Precious. Teach them young to grow and they will enjoy gardening all their lives. What a wonderful gift to give your child. Beautiful harvest, too. Your beans are about a week ahead of ours, which are still tiny pods. Flowers just opening on custard squashes. Planted chard late so it's trying to survive the earwigs. Tomatoes are loaded with green tomatoes too. Very nice garden you have there. Our runner beans outgrew our home grown 12 ft bamboo canes! Cucumbers are just starting to vine as had to replant due to grasshoppers eating them.( chickens and duck enjoyed eating the grasshoppers, so we're even😂)

If you have a rite aid they have some slate plant labels for 4 pieces for $2.49 if they still have them. They are reusable, never wear out and don't blow away. Hubby bought me a bunch because He's tired of me forgetting to buy labels 😉🤣

Sounds like a lot of un you have going on there. Thanks for watching. No rite aid in our area

He is a great helper Brandon. My son still helps me today in the greenhouse and he's 19 now. He was as young as yours when he started! They grow up quickly my friend, Those beans look great! Chuck

Great Tour Brandon. I really like the tomato tags because the wind here in Dallas always blows away my ground tags! I'll be sure to pick some of those up. I'm also interested in your tips to the squash success. The vine borers always get to mine and limit production... Do you treat them or do the pests just not know about yours yet? Overall, you're doing well again and when the heat hits us hard in June-August, you're shaded areas will serve you well! Thanks for the Tour and happy growing!

+Rob Backyard Gardenerr well I never have had the squash vine bores, but also this soil may have never grown squash so they haven't found me...yet.

any advice for getting your child into gardening (could be a fun video)... how early did you start? what activities did you let them help with? any good books that you used to help them learn?
@bmarsh0117 жыл бұрын
They watch, they learn, keep them enjoy the great outdoors. He has been out in the garden from the beginning. See previous years videos

Everything is looking really good. You did well with the limited space you have now compared to your old garden. What are you fertilizing with and what is the schedule? I'm on the Florida Panhandle so I understand your heat and rain issues.

I'm starting to harvest tomatoes and squash right now. Next spring try the Burpee seed called pic n' pic. It's a yellow squash that produces a lot of squash

Hey Brandon! Your new yard looks great! And, great progress on the veggie garden. The sprout is fantastic, too! Loved his dump truck haul, LOL! Question: What are the dimensions on that trellis panel, and where did you purchase the hardware? I have cukes to go in, and already have the TPosts. Thanks!
@bmarsh0117 жыл бұрын
Bought the panels at Tractor Supply. I think its called a Handy Panel or Feedlot Panel. They come in 16ft or 8ft long panels. I have two 8ft panels about 52in tall.

al gonz We water when the Garden needs it. Lately only once a week with all the rains we have been having this spring. But once summer hits we will of course need to water more.

thanks for taking the time to put these videos together! I to live in the Dallas area, going on 5 years now. the past couple years I had tried a few plants with little results but this year things are going much better. I have already picked a dozen banana peppers and a couple bell peppers and should have tomatoes ready to be picked in the coming weeks. now I hope you can answer a question for me I planted some snap peas or sugar peas back in February got eaten and replanted and March after a little time away from home I come back and I find that my pea plants are for the most part White and I was able to get about two dozen peas picked. do you think I should pull these plants? coming down from Ohio I am still uncertain of when to plant certain plants and I'm wondering if it is starting to get too hot for peas any suggestions
