Nice close proximity flying with the plane and not a bad picture for such a tiny camera.

I’m thrilled that someone finally listened and disappointed at the same time that fpv quality hasn’t changed in years. I hope we can have RunCam Hybrid style dual-lens setup with a board like this eventually. Yeah that would be heavier, but this isn’t exactly light anyway.

All old Splits have a menu setting to get the full 16x9 FOV in your goggles. They used to call it 'full screen' under TV-out settings, IIRC 👍 Also - on the old Split Mini's with the 8mm lens, you can use the lens from Foxeer Predator to get a really nice extra wide view. Might be worth a try here too
@MrShutterBug5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, those things might help, but my goggles are 4:3 and I really don't like having a stretched image. Good 4:3 FPV cameras can have a view that is both wider and taller. Tradeoffs.
@lievenvv5 жыл бұрын
@@MrShutterBug Yeah, on 4x3 goggles that doesn't work very well! The Predator lens may still give you both a taller+wider view - if the sensor size is the same as the old ones, then I really recommend trying it! I absolutely love proxy flying with it :) (careful though; there's some batches without infrared filters... 😑)

As ever, thanks again for another great video! Form factor of this cam is going in right direction :) they just need to sort the latency and the FOV, maybe a different lens is the way forwards for that but no doubt it would compromise the HD footage and there would be more editing work to make it right. I wonder also where the latency is, can it be fixed with faster processor etc

That build flies way nice(I built a tomoquads corsa which is similar) those standoffs will break very easily when crashed at the speeds the quad goes..... the hx 115 build needs to be crash tested ! I’ll crash test it for you and show you that it’s a fast great flier but one hit and your using m2 stand offs to repair.... this time your runcam hd board will probably get shredded.....
@MrShutterBug5 жыл бұрын
Did you notice how my standoffs were white? I already replaced them once. But this is just a prototype. I have already given BetaFPV a lot of feedback about this drone, and they are making some changes. I'll reserve judgement until I see the final version.

@MrShutterBug4 жыл бұрын
No. Every gram matters for a 65mm 1S whoop. If you want to carry a split HD camera then I would say 2” props + 2S batteries is the minimum (ie a “ShutterBug85 HD”) or for more power outdoors, maybe 3” 3S like the HX115 HD. Cheers!

I just finished doing this, but using the mob6 board. I have to figure something out tho... voltage is dropping on the runcam board making the board turn off, comes back on tho when plugged in. I still get osd, think this board can't feed the hd board and camera🤔 It can fly, just don't hit lots of throttle🤣😂🤣camera cuts out 🤦♂️ Actually flies really nice even though it comes in at 31g. Betafpv 0802 19,500kv motors. Going to try the 0802 17,500kv motors first before i do anything else

@@UFDACREW i swapped to the 0802 17,500kv.... now i can ride the battery all the way down to 3v flying.... it climbs back up to around 3.6v and im getting close to 3min. I figured it was the amp hungry motors after holding it in my hand and giving it throttle and watching the board cut out. Now i can do full throttle even till landing voltage and board doesn't cut out. It definitely feels slower, but i was never intending this to be big on performance with this weight. There some latency, but i can fly still... just don't go really fast😝 I thought perhaps a cap would help, but I'm seriously not trying to make this any heavier. I'm content with the performance, but for sure i could shed some weight with a different canopy.... the good thing about this betafpv canopy, props aren't in view👍👍even with low camera tilt👍👍

No, make it smaller not larger! What about half size like a VTX so it sits behind the camera?
@MrShutterBug5 жыл бұрын
Half the size would be amazing! But to be clear, this DVR board is NOT larger. It just has holes in different places, to match whoop flight controllers.
@davidmdsk5 жыл бұрын
Nice to hear that there is going to be finally hole compatibility. However, I still think that it would be better to change 26mm pattern on whoop to 20mm pattern. To me it seams retarded to adjust PCB of DVR according to some plastic frame. Why not just design frame so that all patterns can fit (be it 20, 30, 26)? I do not get that. What is the benefit of 26mm pattern of the whoop, anyway? There are many carbon frames which are 20x20 pattern (thy only problem is they are too heavy). I would definitely appreciate frame with 20x20 pattern where I can use any camera a lot more than single camera at 26.
