I was going to put a baby turtle on my geprc phantom, but ruining live experience through my fpv feed isn't worth having hd footage to watch afterwards. That's what a mini quad with gopro is for, imo
@Burn3774 жыл бұрын
It is something you can get used too, I've been flying the cx3 wtih the split mini v2 for a while and just upgraded to the hybrid. I don't notice a massive difference as far as latency but the fpv feed is far cleaner. In saying that I'd say the splits fpv feed is better then the EOS on the phantom, though the added weight of the turtle may give an undesirable experience.

Hi! totally agree on everything about the run cam . I have the Eachine cinefun with it and the field of view of the hd is amazing. The image is quite crisp too but not amazing at all. now take that build and cut a top mounted frame, just use short standoffs about 15mm. Its like bottom and top mounted on 5inch, that big a difference, at least to me. Also to say that I actually prefer it to be a bit heavier at around 108-110 auw, at the 100 mark it feels too floaty. Its like flying with and without a gopro, kinda.
@Kabab4 жыл бұрын
I think if you tested these two setups that I have tested year you would definitely go for the lighter option. Even if there was a version with the battery on top. I have done a whole lot of testing in this department. If you prefer sort of feel with a wide weight distribution and battery on top then sure that's your preference. As far as I have found, low weight and a very tight weight distribution is the only way these micros can perform as well as possible.
@kevincortez62274 жыл бұрын
i'd just prefer them just make these only for recording hd footage. keep your existing fpv camera in place, and just mount this on top where a go pro would go. remove the fpv feed dependency, and reduce it's power consumption. It would be perfect. baby ratel in front, with this on top.

Bro, try the AKK Oscar's backpack with MMCX and only 2.8g with the AKK Nano camera (2g). The VTX screws down to the camera to make a very compact set up! The camera's board is super slim. I made a Toothpick with this set up and it's awesome! Flies amazing! Superb image and awesome range and reception! AUW of 45g exactly with GEPRC 12amp FC, R-XSR, and 1103 10000kv motors. Actual flight weight with antenna, just add your battery. My Turnigy 2S 370mah super thin LIPO makes it only 71.8g! 😊 Plus, a hidden bonus, the VTX says it's 25 and 200mw...but every test I've seen, by several people with the good equipment to test output power (that Immersion RC tester) show it tests out at 400mw! You can now get SOOOOO MUCH BETTER penetration through trees, etc. and much better range too, of course! Plus, the camera is awesome! Such balanced color without a hint of over saturation, no off tint, and good contrast, and very sharp! Not soft like O231 or who0p camera. I think you will be very pleasantly pleased! And, when on sale, you can get BOTH for only $24 ! No red blotches or sparklies either! 😁👍 Absolutely smokes all other Nano cameras, but the Predator 4 Nano. I think I may have found you your new Nano VTX/Camera combo! 😎🤘I love it! I have 4 now...

Here is what I want. I want this kind of camera with a box (or printable mount) to mount the lens on top of my glide, and no fpv view. I dont understand why nobody has made a decent looking 1080p60 (like the runcam in your video) that is ONLY for recording. Products like the dolphin are trash, sessions are way to expensive now (ive seen 2 die recently and throwing $200+ at one seems scary to me) and something with an easily replaceable camera apparatus only makes sense to me. Do cameras really need to weigh 74 grams like the session does? Why not make a board with a cap on it so it saves when the power is removed like fatshark dvr? I just feel like a small caseless HD recorder makes so much more sense for an fpv pilot than something that carries its own batteries and has its own set of issues. Dont get me wrong, GoPro 100% has the best looking video footage by far, but I would rather get a system that only requires me to buy a $30 replacement camera rather than having to replace a whole system when it falls from 50 feet or hits something at 80mph. Build the board with a pinch for the camera wires like some of the tbs vtxes have for the antennas, and then when you rip a camera off you have another one in your bag, and it takes like 30 seconds to replace, and only costs as much as a night out.
@Kabab4 жыл бұрын
I think a hero 7 with no battery or screens is ideal. But unfortunately they won't make us that. If they did it wouldn't weigh more than maybe 10g. We could literally get fantastic HD from a toothpick class quad if they would make it for us.
@djs1344 жыл бұрын
I put a runcam nano 2 on my tinyhawk freestyle with a custom 3D mount and the performance difference from those few grams was insane. Needless to say I had to go back to the stock camera even though the fpv feed is far superior on the runcam nano 2
@DoRC4 жыл бұрын
Interesting. Was that my mount?
@djs1344 жыл бұрын
Do RC actually it was lol. And the mount was awesome I’m definitely not knocking it. Im mostly referring to the added weight being a factor. I didn’t notice it much when I added the runcam but just as a experiment I took it off and went back to the stock camera and the tinyhawk suddenly felt supercharged so that added weight played a factor. I believe kabab says the sweet spot for 2s is 73-75 grams for 2.5” props and with the runcam I’m at 84.67 after going back to stock camera I’m at 77.03 so still to heavy but that’s all I can do considering I added a xm+ and a eachine nano vtx.
