Love watching YT vids from enthusiasts such as yourself. You can hear the passion and excitement in your voice with every find. Also I am so Glad that you are impressed with the "Ultra". I am new to metal detecting, so new in-fact that my detector hasn't arrived yet! I have actually purchased the simplex ultra and so far every review I have seen rate it quite highly, so I hope there will be some interesting finds to come for me. Some people one the eastern and western coast say the Simplex + is no good on the beach and is very chatty. I have absolutely no issues on the beach, in the water ( wet sand or dry ) here along Texas beaches.

I used to enjoy the simplex + on the beach with the SP24 coil as it was a coin magnet, I’d say looking at your video the new Ultra is proving to be another great beach machine. Well done and thanks for sharing Adam, I did think it would perform sweet, and I wonder how it would be with an SP24 fitted? Because the stock coil did well 👍

They're not comparable. There's no way of setting up a fair like-for-like test between them. If you're trying to decide on a new machine it's best to get the one that matches your ability and experience in the first instance 👍

Each to their own. I'm used to the original Simplex which had the same tone set. Once you get used to it it's remarkably nuanced 👍

@@DTEKTSUSSEX I always got on with my simplex too apart from the interference from every pointer I tried, it performed way above its price tag, and certainly was never chattery as many report.. I never liked the tones though and hoped they had improved now , but if anything they are coarser. Good video though mate 👌

I can’t speak for the new Simplex Ultra, but I can say that the Simplex + is a great machine and now that I have the Legend, I would say you’d be much happier adding the money and getting the Legend.

Is it as good as the legend on the beach ? And is it more expensive or less expensive then the legend i might get one im not happy with the vanquish 540 i bought its rubbish

Hi Eddie, It's fine for the beach but the Legend will perform better because it's a simultaneous multi-frequency machine and has a lot more settings and features. The Legend is a bit more but definitely an amazing deal at the price 👍😊

Thanks adam il get the legend then the vanquish 540 is multi frequency but thats overhyped in my opinion still very chatty on the wet sand and gives phantom signals very deep, dig 15 inch sometimes nothing in the hole

Hi! Yes, the Ultra has a lot more in terms of settings and adjustments such as recovery speed and ground suppression (amongst others) 😊👍

Happy to help 😊 The Ultra is better than the Plus on the Simplex. Inside and out. The Plus is a monster of a machine but the Ultra somehow manages to improve on it! Headphones aren't essential but will help you to hear the more subtle nuances of the tones. The Ultra had Bluetooth connection so you can use your own headphones as long as they're low latency. What the Nokta machines have over the others you mention is ease of use, build quality, waterproof rating and performance for your money. Any other questions, please feel free to let me know. This is only my first hunt so too early to assess accurately. Deepest on this hunt in Beach mode was around 6-7 inches. I'll be trying it on land soon and may do some testing down the line 👍

Not on my local beach. Always check the Crown Estates website. If it comes under their jurisdiction then you're good to go. If not, just check with your local council 👍

Everyone has their own tastes. I quite like the Simplex sounds. For an entry level machine you get a lot of nuance to the targets.

for me the problem was the Nokta market strategy, release the first Legend and after that down the price a lot because they release accessory in carbon and new material, new legend versione with carbon and new accessory material and now release new simplex family, so the first legend become already obsolete i buy at january and cant sell for cheap price is insane!

I agree...The tones of the Simplex are horrible....Sounds like a wounded duck. Otherwise, I would have purchased the Ultra...The 99 tones on this detector sounds much better on this detector....Think I will keep the Xterra Pro at the top of the list.

No...the price drop had nothing whatsoever to do with the hardware upgrade. The Simplex doesn't replace the Legend...it's an entry level machine. The Legend is still the top end flagship.

@@jasonking6366 Yes, I got the X-Terra Pro as a backup to my Manticore and I'm real happy with both. I used the XTP with a 15-inch DD coil this weekend on the beach and I was super happy with it. I found 2 rings and coins down deep some at 14 inches.

No, the Simplex was never designed to have multiple frequencies. It's produced to be as simple to use as possible whilst providing high performance in most locations.

Only on the new Ultra model. Not on the Simplex+ or the new Lite or BT. Remember, everyone is different and starts from a different point. What is simple to one user is not simple to another. When I first started out switching frequencies would have been too much. Now the concept is second nature. I know users who have been detecting longer than I've been alive who would struggle with the idea of changing frequencies.

Hi Jack, The Ultra has Bluetooth, carbon fibre hardware and is only 1.2kg in weight. It also has a thinner control box, better buttons and a lot more settings (see my unboxing video from last week for more info 😊👍).
