First Ice Fishing Trip Couldn’t have gone MORE WRONG!!

The first trip of the ice season didn’t go as planned! We were able to catch the first fish of the season, but it was ALL downhill from there! Always check your gear before the season even if you think it was put away properly! Learn from my mistakes and it might save you a couple fish 😂

I went thru the ice in December one time,people all around,never fished in December again! Car sunk to the frame in February,cured my ice fishing for life!

Ayy it could definitely go worse! My first time out this year, I walked out, drilled two holes, and then a huge pressure crack ripped right between my legs and scared the sh*t out of me, had to get off. Ice was 2 inches, and I'm 270 lbs. Still could have been worse though, could have fallen through and lost my gear!

Even with the best precautions sometimes you make a mistake. I’ve definitely done it before. No ice is 100% safe

You have good thickness on your ice; however, the ice looks rotten. Like the ice crystals went vertical from some sort of warm spell.

You are absolutely correct! Decent base layer of ice, but a few 40 degree days wreaked havoc on the ice, but more cold temps to come.

I use decoy suckers on my tipup

The bigger the better but if not available use ballpark franks!caught 2 pike over30 on the same hotdog
