Great anchor system. I, too, am new to kayak fishing and just installed the same trolly kit just modified. I went with a zig zag cleat instead of that triangle one. I also opted for two welded stainless rings with a carabiner for the bottom middle rope where it connects The carabiner allows you to clip in your anchor line easier as well as disconnect one side for towing from the stern or being towed from the bow, just keep the carabiner on the side you need, pull the slack out til the welded ring hits the pulls and your good to go. I actually have those plastic balls on the line as well before the welded ring so the line stops before the pully.
@608fishing4 сағат бұрын
The zig zag cleat has less moving parts so it will probably be better for longevity! Kayaking is a ton of fun and you can access a ton more water.

i've watched a few of your videos now. thought places looked familiar in your other videos haha. Just subscribed! I'm over on park st. I bankfishall over the chains. I haven't got into the smaller lakes/ponds near madison yet. I've been spoiled up north fishing, fish bite on different stuff here its odd. I'm still getting used too it. Just caught a 3.5lb large mouth in the creek near park st finally.

I use the A-rig for all sorts of fish. My record for brown trout is 3 at the same time and I have caught 4 yellow perch at the same time. I have one tip for you when you start fishing with it and that is to use different colors to see what color that the fish prefer and then use that color on all as soon as you see a clear pattern for what the fish prefer that day or time of day.

I'm always up for trying new things and would never limit myself to just a single type of lure/bait. Micro stuff can be really fun -- especially when nothing else is biting. Eurotackle has a lot of nice micro crankbaits/suspended lures that are fantastic for crappie.
@608fishing5 күн бұрын
Absolutely! I do like Eurotackle’s stuff and have a few videos with their plastics and micro popper. Never tried their jerkbaits or crankbaits before.

My bluegill always fall off on cast.... Whats the trick?
@608fishing10 күн бұрын
Lob casts are your friend! Otherwise the correct size hook and hooking is the gill about a 1/4-1/2 inch down from the back on the back third of the dorsal fin depending on the size of gill. For me this has worked pretty well and they stay alive for quite a while. Always remember to clear any scales off the hook point. Hope that helped!!
