Hello happy fishing 🎣 Thursday I'm new to your fishing KZbin channel I love and enjoy saltwater pier fishing out here in California question ❓ how do you know when the lake is safe to walk on when the lake Is frozen

Great question! So no ice is “safe” and that’s a caveat I would always give people. Everyone has their own threshold of what they are comfortable with. 4 inches of ice is what I am ok walking on, but you still have to take caution. We use a spud bar that you hit the ice with and it can give you a pretty decent idea of how much is there. I have a video from a few weeks ago that goes into the safety a bit more.
