Air forks were tried in the 1970s. The air in the fork gets hot after a few laps. Hotter air expands which increases the spring rate. Also the air pressure causes stiction on the seals. Maybe the new technology will work better.

Well, fortunately, I am a VP Racing Fuel dealer. So I get it direct from VP. But you can mix 110 leaded race gas with your regular gas and that will prevent ethanol clogging issues. That's all I run in my motors. Never have a problem. There are also additives you can buy from auto parts stores to prevent those problems. Sta-Bil is a good product to add to fuel. I hadn't cranked one of my bikes in 5 months, and it cranked up on the 3rd kick yesterday. Gotta like that!

Just to let ya know, Fuel injecting can be ''optimaised'' aka change the injection mapping, it factory tune a little back for emissions and such

lol. at the beginning I was like "whooa nice sound" but it was the kid on the rm85 in the background. the kid on the 2 Stroke impressed me more tbh.

For people who are short (like me) and are concerned about what bike they can and can't ride, don't be afraid to ride a 250f if you are small I started out on a 250f never even touched a 125, I weigh 110 pounds and I'm 5'6, I hear from people way to often that the motorcycle dealer told them they were to small for a certain bike, you will be fine as long as you have respect for the bike and have throttle control you are going to get hurt eventually but that is just part of the sport.

@Hanton1412 жыл бұрын
What an awesome bike! I have had the older ones for a while now! so reliable! only had punchers! :) Can't wait for it to land in South Africa!!
@Uncle5cary12 жыл бұрын
Slightly more space, but it doesn't really matter since the carb/fi is buried under bodywork and frame spars anyway. Bikes use a throttle body. Newer cars have port fuel injection: injector is right on top of the intack valve. Typically the fuel pump is inside the fuel tank, which reduces its capacity.
@eddiebarajas612 жыл бұрын
love it.but what keeps yamaha still wanting a carb?
@Uncle5cary12 жыл бұрын
carb works fine. FI means more weight for the fuel pump, injectors clogging with the slightest speck of dirt
@HorsepowerHouse12 жыл бұрын
Among my other bikes, I STILL have my 2004 YZ250F and it has been an excellent bike. Never a problem. Just don't run ethanol-based fuel in it! LOL Clogs jets...
@SchanZ4412 жыл бұрын
correct me if i'm wrong but the carburator takes up more space then the efi right ?

@bligrigs11 жыл бұрын
You can fully tune a carb for like five bucks jets n needle stuff n make it run how ever you like. No expensive programmers. Hard to break a carb too. When was the last time you seen someone not finish a race because carb stopped working? But I do like injection if I crash, easy er to restart bike.

Its not about carbs being better or FI costing more to fix, its about yamaha not even giving you the option of fi or carb, every other 250 has fi, yamaha always last to adopt anything new as usual, aluminium frame on the yz 125? 2005, cr 125? 1996:P.
