The Yamaha YZ250F has been a very successful and reliable bike over past years and as the saying goes if it's not broken don't fix it. In times where a lot of people are into the fuel injection craze Yamaha have proved time and time again that the carby system is working great for them.

I ride trail & enduro on my YZ250F, on difficult off camber & climbing over logs etc it gets very hot but for the most part its fine. Its exactly the same engine & cooling system as the WR250F only difference is the gearbox.

its ok in the uk we can drive them at 17 to a l25 most my mates have Yamaha dts on road but converting there 300's now to road putting indicators on lights break lights on it just cost alot

its more of a personal preferance. the two stroke is much more of superior piece of equipment when it comes 250 4stroke v 250 smoka. a yz250f four stroke displaces 20.1 foot pounds of torque while the two strokes 250 get 30.6 pounds torque. AMA- rule forced 2 strokes to be raced against 450 4 strokes. which kinda killed off the smoka's because now the big companys focused more on the 4 strokes. KTM and Yammy still make them. i love them, 2 strokes are a great moto, it really comes down to you:P

Heyy guys, I want to buy a yz250f but my only concern is fitting on the bike. Im 165cm (5ft 5) and 56kg (125lb). I want to get the bike for riding in the bush with open tracks. Do you guys think I would have problems with the bike. If so is there a way I can lower the bike?

Hello, well ill tell you mate i was just in your seat a few weeks ago, and decided to just go ahead and buy it, bought a yzf 250, 2012 model. its perfect, its not too heavy, its not too big either ( i weigh as much as you, im just a lill bit taller, i rly recomend the bike but you might want to set the suspension up to fit your height )

@RedneckDipper94 lol first of all the "YZ/CR500" isn't even a real bike. Second of all they made 500cc 2 strokes way before they started making new 450s. ID like to see a 250 2 stroke beat a modern 4 stroke 450. Not even competition there. 4 strokes are the face of motocross now and people like you that are caught up in the past make me laugh. Get used to 4 strokes because I doubt 2 strokes are gonna make any comeback
