In my personal opinion, I believe the stage 2 tune + e85 is worth it to get the performance needed for what the car is meant for. I don’t think going any higher than that is worth the money when you can get a faster car for probably less money that was put into the BRZ/FRS. I kept mine at stage 2+ and I’m having the most fun pulling out of corners at full speed. I don’t race straight aways with other faster cars because I know it’s not what it’s meant for. Most high HP cars can’t do what my 86 can and I’m happy with that. Especially on the track.

Your cars turning out awesome! I also have a white brz and started modding. I've been looking into a e85 kit and got scared after I saw someones brz from the ft86 forum burned to the ground. I believe he got a his e85 kit from John Visconti tuning. Is yours the safest and most popular for ft86? How do you feel about a OFT tune to e85?

Recently seized my fa20 engine and took it to a performance shop with great reviews and.recommendations Subaru specialist dropped like 6k into it . acl race bearings cp Piston ARP head studs and Alil more. Also got the takeda intake and.hoping to get the Greddy evo GT exhaust . So.excited after seeing your brz handling good on e85 and yes finally can pass people hahab :-)

+zues2013 The GTI has a turbo ya know. Big difference from NA (obviously). I have just 5 psi and I run the same as a stage II apr GTI on 20 psi. The FA20 is high VE engine. More than the EA888 for sure.

i own a mk5 gti with a stage 2 tune from malone. yes i can beat a brz tuned but i head into a corner with one and he loses me so fast. power is easier to add then steering ability

This sounds like a dumb question, but if ur car is converted to run on E85, can you still fill it up with pump gas occasionally? Or are u permanently running it on E85?

+Jesvin Joy With flex fuel you can switch back as much as you want. With specfic maps for e85 (non-flex fuel) you can as well switch back and forth you just need to run the tank very low before switching. This is how I do it with ecutek tuning.

Steven Kaspick Ah ok, that makes sense. So, is it a long process to switch maps between e85 and regular? If not, couldn't tj just switch back to his regular map, when he's low on e85, so he can find a gas station, and fill up? Again, another dumb question.

Yeah when you switch just fill up on the low fuel light or lower if convenient doesn't really matter. Nothing bad will happen. On ecutek you can switch maps instantly on the fly. It stores 4 maps in the ecu you use the cruise control lever to select them 1-4 on the tach. If you used open flash tablet it takes about 5 minutes to flash.

fuhsaz you don’t need a flex fuel kit just a tune. If you get the oft you can just flash to the stage 2 + e85. But to answer your question, if you do want to buy a flex fuel kit you won’t have to flash back bc it’s flex fuel. If you decide not to get the ff kit and just the oft, you’ll need to flash back every time
