Just go to the Floreasca neighbourhood, the zone with Promenada mall. You will be more impressed than with the Palace of Parliament. I don't know why all the foreigners go only to the Parliament zone... there are a lot of better places in Bucharest. Try the IOR park, Calea Victoriei, the Cismigiu park and the near boulevards. Also, Drumul Taberei park, it is in front of a subway station, I think Drumul Taberei one.

Bucharest is a treasure hunt . You can find the most amazing buldings hidden behind generic comunist apartments . Last time I was in town I found a beautiful old monastery near my hostel.

Bucharest for sure is an amazing city in itself, with a very nice vibe and not copy pasted, recent years helped with some infrastructure works and rehabilitations, however the reason someone wants to visit romania is Transylvania, trust me, it's one of the most scenic and iconic regions of entire Europe. :) enjoy the travel

Guys, "mici" is exactly the same as "ćevapi" :). I am a Serb and once when I was in Bucharest, a Romanian colleague took me to the dinner and he said that I had to try these "mici" - traditional Romanian meal. It sounded pretty mysterious to me when he tried to explain to me what it is, but when the meal was served I was really surprised to see that it was ćevapi :). The same shape and taste. Just served differently, and with different side dishes. So it's the same heritage of Ottoman empire, with a little local flavor :).

The difference between mici and cevapi is big, they don't taste the same.

@@marcelavram4517 It is not the same, tasted both Serbian and Romanian ones ( I live near Serbia). They might look the same but the texture and state are quite different (not entirely different). The Serbian ones have a much "stronger" texture and the taste is smokey. Whereas Romanian ones are more tender and taste quite differently. One of the main reasons why our mici is different form cevapi is because we use baking soda in our mici composition. Serbians do not use baking soda...

I had a camper van, I drove as far as sunny Beach in Bulgaria, on my way back to the UK it broke down close to a mechanic's house in Romania, I stayed at their home for 3 days until the parts arrived, they invited me to their wedding in Romania in August,,3 months later, I'm 55,these were people in there 30"s,their wedding wasn't good it was spectacular ! !,I am still in touch with these people, I have NEVER met such nice and genuine people in my life, wherever you come from in the world sometimes the worst people you can meet are youre own people, Amazing place and people

In 1659, Bucharest officially became the capital of Wallachia, under the rule of Gheorghe Ghica. Starting with 1900, Bucharest began to be called "Little Paris", due to the people, the places and even the architecture. In the interwar period, the clothes and gestures of the people of Bucharest copied quite a lot of those of the Parisians. Even the French language was spoken a lot on the streets of Bucharest. Many French architects such as Albert Galleron, Cassian Bernard or Xavier Villacrosse designed the buildings in the center of Bucharest and on Calea Victoriei..

Bucharest is amazing, has huuge boulevards and feels like a metropolis. They also have amazing parks and architecture. Don't miss the Cișmigiu Park! However, my favourite Romanian city so far is definitely Cluj. Sorry, Bucharestians :)

Guys, thanks a lot for your content! A greek friend sent me a video of you two in Saloniki. I'm romanian, but I've been living in Greece for a while. Wonderful country, happier people. The cuisine is great, the music I love it too. The churches, the sun, the beaches, the people. But I also love my country of origin, Romania. The are so many POI in Romania, that I would not be able to list them here. Every region has it's identity, represented by the language firstly. You may notice regionalisms - word specific for that region, but still romanian. The food and music and so on. You may take some advices from your followers, ragarding to what to visit next. I recommend visiting during the summer. In Moldova (the region of Romania, not the republic - altough they're our brothers) or Maramures you might be impressed a lot. But every region has its specific culture. I'm not a fan of the cities. But mostly the historical spots, the country side.

The ancient name of Romania was DACIA. A great ancient kingdom. We had wars with the Romans who wanted Dacia's gold. The story of the Daco-Roman war is carved on Trajan's Column in Rome .On the Column you can see our Dacian ancestors in heavy battles with the Romans. Emperor Trajan conquered in 106 AC only a part of the Dacian kingdom. the gold part. With the plundered gold from Dacia, the Romans built the forum in Rome and others. 165 tons of gold and 330 tons of war booty embankments. Romanians are a Latin people, more Latin than the Romans-Italians , they are much younger than the Dacians.

We have Romanian tenants and know many of their friends now. Hopefully staying with them on holiday next month and a few days at their parents in a traditional village. I have polinka in cooking oil bottles from the villages they bring back to the UK. All taste different but as you say very natural and not giving you a headache at all after a hard night on it. Its a meat fest when we BBQ with a tiny bit of salad , pot of mustard and tons of nice meat. Enjoy the food its very natural and healthy, even the cakes dont fatten you as without our dairy products in them.

Nu cred asa ceva, unde ai gasit tu statistica asta !??!! Daca te referi la suprafata, intr-adevar Bucuresti e mai mare decat Paris 228 km patrati vs 105 km patrati, dar in fata noastra sunt multe alte orase din EU cu suprafata mult mai mare decat a Bucurestiului cum ar fi pana si Budapesta sau Sofia, Zagreb care au dublu ca suprafata ... Daca te referi la populatie, nici acolo nu avem cum sa fim pe locul 4.

Eu doar l-am corectat si am scris ca nu are cum sa fie pe locul 4 nici ca suprafata si i-am enumerat cateva orase mai mari care l-au sarit din locul 4, si nici ca populatie pt ca inaintea Bucurestiului se afla Londra, Madrid, Berlin, Barcelona, Roma... ,deci nici aici nu e pe locul 4, de unde te-ai trezit tu sa aduci in discutie Brosteni ce legatura are cu subiectul !!!?

Dambovita is the river in Bucharest :) you could have also visited the Village Museum in Bucharest, it has old rustic houses from all over Romania... Herastrau park...
