I really enjoyed video, reminded me of my visit to Cluj. Yes, history and architecture is great, but, my impression no 1 is wow, how young and vibrant that city is. Also, Cluj is the second major IT centre in Romania, a lot of young professionals, well educated, open minded, with very good English.

I live in Cluj and also in Bucharest but honestly Cluj is amazing and better, Bucharest is too busy and very very noisy. There, in Transilvania are sooo many things to do, lots of places to visit, lots of traditions , Maramures is the best place in Europe to visit !! I think Transilvania has the last wild places in Europe, the last virgin forests ! you should stay there the whole summer and will not be enough :))

Hello, very good vlog congrats! The orthodox cathedral that you mentioned starting with minute 7:00 is called "Dormition of the Theotokos Cathedral" (Romanian: Catedrala Adormirea Maicii Domnului) was actually build between 1923 and 1933 after union of Transylvania with the Kingdom of Romania. It is not a communist symbol but a symbol of unification forming the Greater Romania Kingdom .The main dome of the Cathedral, inspired by the dome of Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, is surrounded by 4 Romanian Brâncovenesc style towers.

Actually, the church at 7:29 was built way before the communists, right after the union of Transylvania with Romania. That is the see of the Orthodox Metropolitan of Cluj.

That church you mentioned was build in the interwar period. The cathedral you mentioned, being built in the communist era, is actually a bit similar-looking, but it’s in a different neighbourhood of Cluj called Marasti that is full of commie blocks.

You make a mistake because you use the word Transylvania too much in your vlogs. Romanians do not speak like that, almost no one says I was in Transylvania, they only say I was in Cluj, or in Brasov. And because you are talking about an area from Romania I also recommend you to visit Bucovina or Maramures because they are very beautiful places and completely different from what you have seen so far

Cluj is a beautiful ROMANIAN city, growing fast ( congrats to them, well done!) economically and socially. But the again, so it is the entire country. Anyway, I like your vlogs, you are super cool. just to correct you a bit, it is historically called Transylvania, or Erdély in Hungarian, Siebenbürgen in German, Ardeal in Romanian. It is the youngest part of Romania which got united with the country in 1920 after the treaty of Trianon. Also because it is a historically and ethnically diverse territory, or at least used to be, that is why people often just refer to it as Transylvania. Hungarians whenever they visit Cluj for instance never say I am traveling to to Romania but to Erdély (Transylvania) Allow us to be a bit nostalgic. :)
