The largest city in MACEDONIA. In today’s video, I’ll be walking you around the main attractions of the city centre and sharing with you my FIRST IMPRESSIONS.
Skopje is by far one of the most unique looking cities that I have visited before. Did you know that they have 100 STATUES just in the heart of the city?! CRAZY! I enjoyed walking around the city centre because it’s pretty relaxed and all of the attractions are close to one another.

What’s the most unique city you have visited before? 😄

I think out of all the places I've been, the most unique was pretty close to home: Taxco, Mexico. It just wasn't like any other place I've ever been.

Oh how cool! I’d love to go to Mexico 🇲🇽 What is it like in Taxco? I’ve never heard of that city before.

@@LanaTiare It's a small town in the mountains, about halfway between Mexico City and Acapulco (close to Cuernavaca). It's not safe to go to Acapulco anymore but I think Taxco is still safe. It's known for its silver (such beautiful jewelry and decorations!) It's much more authentic than many cities that have a lot of tourists. Only problem is if you get carsick, the bus trip there will really make you sick! I felt awful but luckily was staying for a few days.

Awww so nice the story with the lady. But totally hear you, the kindness and the hospitality in this area are outstanding. I think that is the main reason why we love the Balkans so much. So good you feel safe there! Most Balkans countries are doing phenomenal with speaking other languages. We celebrate this behavior highly, never take it for granted. Lieles only eats tomatoes in the Balkans and in Spain lol

Outstanding hospitality and super safe! It’s crazy how people don’t know about these countries and they’re so safe! Lots of people back home didn’t know where I was 😅😂. They really are good at speaking English too! Definitely don’t take it for granted. Yes! Oh I’d love to try the tomatoes in Spain now too 😋

Nice to have you back on youtube! Skopje looks really cool - Macedonia is one of the Balkan countries we didn't make it to. The Old Bazaar looks just like in Sarajevo, I guess as there's so much shared history. It's so lovely when you can sit and chat with locals even when it's difficult, because the people are what makes a country. Love a good fortress in a city!

Totally get the walkable part, I felt like that about Belgrade and Zagreb. That is so good that people are wearing masks. Truly enjoyed your IG stories and see the Turkish influence there. For sure they didn't think you were from NZ Yes, perfect for a hot day, a nice and cold beer.

You must wear masks? Because we want travel to skopje, but we do not want to take a mask. ;-}

When we visited I think it was only mandatory inside. But rules could change so maybe check with the regulations. A lot of people wear them outside too.
