So TourBox watched and answered some of my feedback: 1. There will be a battery level info in the final version of the software 2. That other mode of haptics will be the deeper one with more vibration, looking forward to it 3. The backers will indeed get the real storage case for the KS deal, and I didn't get one. ヽ(ಠ_ಠ)ノ 4. Didn't specify on the battery life, but there's a sleep mode whenever you don't use the device, so it's doing its thing to be efficient.

I use a Nintendo Joy-Con and a key re-mapper app. My posture isn't good, I tend to lean on my left arm for support while drawing. So I hold the Joy-Con with my left hand and draw right-handed. Everything in my drawing app is remapped as hotkeys on my Joy-Con. Bit of learning curve but its worth it in the long run. This product, might be a little to big for me to hold while leaning.

Amazing, I feel joycons drift too much so I chose something without a joystick (Video game controller) Plus they can get expensive unless you get modified joycons. My current setup is Laptop on laptop stand to look at eye level, android tablet with superdisplay app for left hand/right hand pen drawing and samsung gear vr controller ($20) remapped with minhe github windows app. It's perfect for me as scroll wheel is done by moving thumb clockwise and counterclockwise.

I watched way too much reviews about this product by now :D I was even considering backing it when it was on kickstarter... but finally i didn't. Your review somehow was the deepest! You talked about details how i wanted to hear. Logically but technically, even scientifically. I think you made up my mind for an Elite. :D

Hey! Thanks for another detailed pre/review! Just one thing regarding the macro to clear a layer: you can actually record that as an action within Photoshop and asign a hotkey to it ;)

It is a good ergonomic device but I'm concern for those who want to use it but they are lefty like me. I have to use my right hand for this device. Hence I wondering will it be hard for me to use it since the ctrl button are on the left side of the device.

A small advice: in photoshop there is a feature called photoshop action: with that you can record everthing you have fdone to your photoshop file. And in the end you can bin certain keytrokes to that action, so whenever you click for example f1 that photoshop action will repeat the recorded actions. And thatt`s how you create macros in photoshop without the need of 3rd party software.

Ouch, almost $200 to back this? Wonderful review, but existing well developed cheaper alternatives exist. XBox controllers work great, Steam handles keyed macros, and Razer's chroma/etc are cheaper, sturdy and work just as well. If this device was exactly half the price being sought, I'd consider it, but it's hard to justify when I can buy a set of 4 controllers for less and wind up with more flexibility. Looks useful though!

@D X which one of those would work best on Photoshop?
@dx39103 жыл бұрын
@@OlafKeller Depends. I have a Steam controller profile for Xbox controllers on remote play. I use my Android tablet + remote play + mini 8bitdo controller + pen to fiddle away from the desk. At the desktop itself I use the keyboard, duh :), but I have the Razer Tartarus v2 and drawing tablet on a keyboard tray if I need to clear off the desk. I lost my old Nostromo n50 - identical device from different eras, mentioned above, equally good -- n50 and v2 both have scrolls wheels, a Dpad, tonnes of buttons and fancy software. Hope that helps give you a better picture of where these things fit, ciao
@robertceron90562 жыл бұрын
$200 and just like razer tartarus v2 its made for people who used their right hand to draw and left hand to use keyboard. Being ambidextrous I can use either one but I find it more enjoyable drawing left handed than right so I prefer using a samsung gear vr controller for keyboard/mouse/scroll wheel mapping in my right hand. If it breaks its only $20 and incredibly functional and ergonomic.

People, Just do yourselves a favor and get the Razer Tartarus V.2. You have a TON of buttons and a scroll wheel, plus macros and whatnot.
@Storm35323 жыл бұрын
I got Tartarus V2 and it's great! I use dozens of shortcuts for tools and actions, and it's neat to have them organized like on a keyboard. With modifiers, the wheel functions like multiple wheels.
@tested211 Жыл бұрын
@@Storm3532 I've used the Razer gamepads for years and they are great (currently using a Tarterus Pro). It looks like the Tourbox is better for people who want more wheel / rotational controls, whereas the Razer is better for sheer number of shortcut buttons.

I've been interested in the NEO for a while, and I'm happy to know that you are enjoying this new version but for 30 dollars extra in kickstarter (around 100 extra when it launches as a commercial product) I haven't seen any more improvements other than wireless. Great product overall, my thoughts still go towards the NEO though

A few people asked that question on KS. Tour Box say they are currently working on iPad integration for the Elite, so looks very likely for Procreate in the near-future.

@BoroCG3 жыл бұрын
I guess production of this device is more expensive in general, since it's a rather niche product. So yeah, it would be great to right away make it wireless with li-ion battery, with back-lit buttons, multiple haptics, and a left-handed version. But these things can't sell like smartphones, so each one costs more. And so, a few features at a time. That's what I think.

They should make the rotary removable so you can add a big syntesizer or midi controller knob. Its looks tiny and plastic. Too small for 1 hand. too small for two hands. Learn controllermate and you can use any game controller or midi device to do the same. Trust me. Getting a wacom. and use karabiner(mac) to map mouse clicks to your left keyboard control key will do a lot more for your workflow. Also create macros using keyboard maestro. They should consider wrist support. They should sell the software without hardware with support for midi and game devices . Would be great for many.

Why would anyone actively choose to have a wireless connection if only working from a home environment. All it does is increase the level to which you will get fucked over should there be a problem with the already tenuous reliability of bluetooth connections.

Not to mention that it creates a need for batteries, that you need to keep buying just to use it. Which makes it even more expensive and environmentally unfriendly than cable.
