I grew up on a farm in a very rural area. Always guns in our home, hunting was a way of life. We all knew how to use every firearm in the house. My brother went through a very hard period of depression at a point in HS. Lost his best friend in an accident as well as other factors. Not a word was said by my parents but every gun in the house went in the safe with a combo only known to dad. Dad spent extra time with my brother every single day, kept him as close as possible even when my brother resisted. We all got through that hard time. Nobody BOUGHT my brother a gun and ignored him every day. I doubt these parents will be convicted. But i hope they live with the guilt every day for the rest of their lives.

It's true, she was also cheating on her husband. She's a selfish person who should've never been a Mom. I think she should be imprisoned with Ethan and forced to spend quality time getting to know her son. I think that would be the best form of punishment for her because she obviously resents Ethan and doesn't care about him at all.

This idiotic mother called her son an "oopsie baby" to her horse trainer, a witness for the prosecution. Not knowing what that was, I looked it up, and it is a reference to some kind of demented baby that has killer instincts. Pathetic excuse for a mother, and so self-absorbed.

These parents are not the son and further, this lengthy process is the punishment ...! The system already took everything these parents had. Their home, vehicles, life savings and their possessions... Bills haven't been paid, credit cards are overdue and these parents have nothing left to take from, or home to return... Either way, the system utterly destroyed these parents’ lives ... This is not justice! The prosecutor’s ominous plot is darker than a moonless night...!

If illogically convicted, this would be the first case to set precedence which means Michigan may become the most dangerous place on earth for parents to have families and raise children! Since when weren’t parents responsible for securing medical care for their minor youth? Dude they are responsible for their current financial demise as a natural consequence of their parental negligence. And I’m even more bothered by this interview -this kid didn’t have a chance and TRIED so many times to tell them “I AM NOT RIGHT”- god bless America

@@valeriereneeharperI believe this trial is triggering this person. There is no logic presented in this comment, no matter how many times it is posted.. Edit: this my 3rd time seeing this comment.. Edit: the worst part is that the commenter probably likes their guns as my husband and family do. It is not the gun. It is the irresponsibility of the purchaser of THESE guns that will have a possible effect on gun laws. Irresponsible owners are the biggest problem. These parents are exhibit number one.

Yes, because we should be so concerned with their financial lives being ruined… when there are four families without children and their son is now navigating the prison system as a child by himself instead of getting the medical help he needed before this tragedy. But yeah, the real sad part about all of this is that the parents can’t pay their bills 🙄

You do realize that Michigan has parental responsibility laws already. You already can be held liable for crimes your children committ, if the circumstances are "right." And you are financially liable for your child's court costs/fines/restitution. And there are times when parents should be held liable. If you serve your kid alcohol, and your kid kills someone by driving under the influence, you better believe you are liable.
