UK first JCB 245XR excavator for Wooldridge Group fitted with an engcon tiltrotator and 3D machine control from Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon.
In this video, Peter Haddock talks to operator Aide about the new machine setup and how it transforms his working day. He also caught up with site manager Paul Bennett who has witnessed just how quickly progress onsite has been since the business moved to 3D machine control nearly five years ago.
The new JCB 245XR is one of four machines purchased by Wooldridge Group. It boasts the latest Stage V compliant engine with a reduced tailswing and full sized cab, making it ideal for housebuilding projects.
The MC1 machine control solution from Leica Geosystems uses its iXE CoPilot functionality to control the tilt and rotate of the Engcon UK Ltd supplied tiltrotator, making it the ultimate 3D enabled excavator.
Operator Aide was so impressed with the machine that he advised Wooldridge Group Director Nobby Grimes to buy him one.
Aide: "Even though the footprint of this machine is smaller, the cab is much bigger than you expect. And there is a lot of glass, making for great visibility. Linking the excavator with the Engcon tiltrotator and being able to work in 3D with the Leica Geosystems machine control, really is next-level stuff."
