I am thinking about getting a kiln. I am curious what kind you got and if you are happy with it.

Thank you so much! The goal is to open an online store within the next couple months. I'll be sure to post a video with the details when that happens.

Hi I love your platters. The shapes and styles are beautiful. Would you show how you create them starting with the clay? Thank you! ☘️

I like the little dish for your husband’s coffee spoon. My pet peeve is my husband’s pepper grinder - when it’s just sitting there on the counter some of the pepper leaks out and it makes a huge mess! I was making some coasters and a couple turned out smaller than I wanted. But they’re the perfect size to set his pepper grinder on.

Thank you! I love when you can repurpose something that doesn't turn out quite the way you want it to.

All of these pieces look great! I love the color combo of your pieces that dripped onto the cookies. I was having the same issue and after loosing so many cookies, I just added kiln wash to them. Fingers crossed that helps lol. Out of curiosity, what type of kiln did you get?
@luckymudpottery2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I do have some kiln wash on the cookies, but I don't think that I put it on thick enough. My wash was pretty watery when I applied it, so I probably need a couple more coats. My kiln is an L&L E23-T.

I would also love to see how you remove the cookies! I have quite a few cookies that are extremely stuck to where the glaze went over the edge of the pot and is completely sealed to the cookie!

Next time I have to take one off, I will try to get a video to share. I use a Dremel with a diamond disc to cut at the spot where the glaze stuck to the cookie. Then I use a Diamond Core Tools grinding disc to get the majority of the drips and rough areas off. I finish smoothing everything out with a variety of diamond sanding pads. It's a bit of a process, but all in all it only takes an extra 5 - 15 minutes (depending on how bad the run was).

Put some kiln wash on your cookies.
@luckymudpottery2 жыл бұрын
I do have two coats of kiln wash on the cookies...I think my wash is a bit too thin though. I plan on putting some more on there to see if it helps. Thanks!
