I would have chosen the same book! The Gallopers and Guapa for the jar! The Bee Sting has a catchy opening line, but the family who has been killed, hasn't really anything to do with the actual story.

The Gallopers would have won for me, with Guapa second. That's a cracking list of books in general though.

Hi Jack! 😊 This kind of video is always a lot of fun and it's a good way to choose if one feels a bit stuck! The Gallopers's first line knocked it out of the park for me, but The Foghorn Echoes was reeeally good too and the story sounds very interesting!

I believe my choice would have been The Gallopers, but there were 2-3 acceptable picks. I think if it were me, I would have to do a "First Paragraph Battle" because it's hard to tell much from a line. Sorry you have recently endured a bad election....believe me, I can totally relate because in the US we are amidst an election. I won't say more than that in the interest of staying away from politics, but suffice to say, it is quite upsetting! Take care!

@@musicroom7185 I still do think about that Gallopers line, maybe it’s a book I’ll have to put on my tbr soon! You certainly are in the midst of political turmoil. Maybe it’s foolish of me to believe goodness and equality will prevail, but I genuinely hope so! Take care ❤️

@@jthbooks I hope you are right about goodness and equality, and i am still hoping, but sadly, we have one candidate with a large vocal following who speaks out against both of those things. Have you started "The Secret History" yet? If so, I am already behind!

@@musicroom7185 it actually scares me. But I have to live in hope. I have started it, finished it and the vlog is coming Thursday. I read about 100-150 pages each day if you wanna read along with me 😊
