@@unholydriver4987 I have to disagree. Music was good in the 70's but it wasn't there yet. The fruit really became ripe in the 80's and lasted through the 90's and very early 2000's but it then went downhill. The only good bands we have these days were actually around in those golden days.

@@Trygvar13 in terms of rock n roll i’ve always viewed the 80s as the start of the rock downfall. once rock became glam and started mixing with pop music you knew things were coming to an end. that’s why grunge is considered the movement that kicked rock back into gear. nothing tops the first wave of classic rock late 60s early 70s. don’t get me wrong the 80s were fun but the music had no substance all people cared about was getting hits and making catchy music with not much substance. every hair metal song is about women and drugs and pretty much all hair bands are derivative of each other and sound the same. and again i’m speaking very generally abt the decade. I know some bands like Rush where some of their greatest material is in the 80s. but overall i think 70s, in terms of songwriting, was just better. maybe it’s because of the era, a war had just ended, but even the pop music in 70s like disco has more substance than glam bands

Some of the things Lex says makes me wonder if she has synesthesia. She always has these vivid descriptions of things. Seems she senses in a way most people don't.

I’d like to recommend Blue Murder ~ Blue Murder. John Sykes, guitarist for Whitesnake, formed Blue Murder post Whitesnake. Try Slow and Easy by Whitesnake. One of their best.

I was born in 1970 so I got to experience the eighties at a great age. I think the fact so many of us had hippie parents helped make our childhoods something special. We had freedom to express ourselves, big hair, parachute pants, jams, white Reeboks/Nikes/Converse, tie die t's.

One: I simply love the comparisons and analogies Lex makes."Cinnamon Altoids". I mean, who comes with that? Lex does! And you know what? It all makes sense! Every single time. Two: The guy playing the guitar like a violin or cello is "our own" Adriaan van den Berg, one of the few Dutch guitar masters who made it internationally, playing with bands like Whitesnake. And three: YES! I grew up in the eighties and it was the best decade! Graduating from highschool, in the autumn of the Cold War (so getting drafted for military service), going to college, crazy hairstyles, top class music, no social media but REAL social interaction where people communicated and expressed their feelings face to face. No internet. Just bliss.
