Nothing makes an original Zeppelin fan happier then seeing a new generation discover why we loved Zeppelin from the first album. "Who was your inspiration ?" - response "Led Zeppelin" - says every band since.

You seem to have a natural talent for the production of the songs. Given your love for music I can see you as a musician, producer, sound engineer or all of the above if you so desire. You have become my favorite reactor because of the pure joy for the music in your reactions. There's so much more to find! Have fun exploring 😊.

Since I've Been Loving You. I totally understand your reaction. The first time I heard it 50 years ago, I was just as flabbergasted as you are. I could not pick up my jaw off the floor. The raw intensity of it is overwhelming. One of the best blues ever written by LZ, and in fact, one of the best ever written, period. BTW, the bass on this song is John Paul Jones playing the Hammond bass pedals at the same time he's playing the organ itself. He used to play the organ in church for a few quid when he was a youngster. That's how he bought his first bass. When people talk about Zeppelin, it's usually about Page, Plant and Bonham, because all three were so flamboyant. JPJ was the quiet one, and hence so underrated, but the man was a genius. Such an accomplished musician. Not only was he rock solid on bass, but also a multi-instrumentalist and an outstanding arranger.

The “keyboard” sound on Friends was an actual string section arranged by John Paul Jones. It’s well known that Page was an accomplished session musician, but what is less known is that JPJ was a gifted session musician and arranger in his own right and as a multi-instrumentalist he added an abundance of diversified color to their music the importance of which cannot be overstated.

the riff or at least the closest thing to that riff is from a classical composition that I heard one time and cannot remember who/what/where, but Jimmy as always took it to a level that no one else could.

@@bishlap Jimmy, Jimmy , Jimmy always Jimmy. He was great, the architect, the mastermind etc…all I’m saying is that Zeppelin wouldn’t have been half as good without the contributions of JPJ because often times all the credit goes to Jimmy, but giving credit where credit is due, it needs to go elsewhere sometimes.

Apart from Shrek III, Led Zeppelin originally denied Richard Linklater permission to use "Immigrant Song" in School of Rock, but star Jack Black was able to convince them by making a video of himself performing the song. A cover of "Immigrant Song", produced by Atticus Ross and Nine Inch Nails member Trent Reznor with vocals from Yeah Yeah Yeahs lead singer Karen O, plays in the trailer and throughout the title sequence of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. "Immigrant Song" was included in both the trailer for Thor: Ragnarok and twice in the film itself. Ref from Wikipedia.

How times change. When this album came out it was not highly praised and was considered one of the least memorable LZ albums. Now 50 plus years later it is considered one of the best.

Although it is important to remember that it was not highly praised by the press. And as Gene Simmons correctly stated : " The press don`t matter". I`m not saying that because I am a LZ fan. If you doubt that, one only has to ask two questions : 1. Did ANYONE EVER buy a record because they had read a good review of it in the papers ? 2. Did ANYONE EVER stop listening to a record they owned because it was given a bad review ? This may sound arrogant, but I KNOW the answer to both those questions.....No & No.

Excellent! Immigrant Song you recognize; it was also in the Thor Ragnarok movie. Robert wrote it while on tour in Iceland. Friends is in an open guitar tuning to help it resemble a sitar and they had a session musician play tabla. Friends has a droning sound at the end as it goes into Celebration Day because Celebration Day was originally going to start with drums, but somehow they got erased so they just extended the drone sound from Friends into it instead of trying to re-record the drums. Robert said the inspiration for Celebration Day was the City of New York. Since I've Loving You is an outstanding, emotional blues song. That fantastic guitar solo was recorded in one take! Jimmy got the title and melody inspiration for Out On The Tiles from John Bonham. It was a drinking song he used to occasionally sing, part of it which went "I've had a pint of bitter and now I'm feeling better and I'm going out on the tiles". You do great reactions and I'm looking forward to the next half.

One of my all time favourite albums and one that proved Led Zep's ability to compose and play outside of just the Rock and Blues genres. Robert Plant of whom you, quite rightly in my view, said "That voice!" was just a couple of months past his 22nd birthday when this was released - a phenomenal talent, the undoubted king of the stage and still the yardstick by which Rock/Blues frontmen are judged, he's been often imitated but never surpassed. Your choice, and reaction to, the albums of my teenage years is exceptional - your reaction is not that much different to mine at the time (is a vicarious observation but deeply satisfying) . Keep going young lady, it's both moving and inspirational to watch you discover these marvellous bands that I've known all of my life.

To me, Led Zeppelin are the Beatles of the 70s. They didn't shy away from every genre of music they could get their hands on and also nailed it, improved it and left it behind for other bands to learn it. As with the Beatles, they have no single bad song. And like the Beatles, they broke up too early. And they lost one member in a tragic way that shouldn't have happened...

Can you imagine Plant was only in his very early 20s when he recorded Since I've Been Loving You, one of the most powerful blues tracks ever! I heard it for the first time when I was the same age (only decades later) and since then it still is one of my absolute fav Zep tracks. And I already was looking forward to your reaction to it - I didn't get disappointed - you are indeed the coolest reaction videos person. ZZ III was heavily critizised by fans and critics alike because apart from the above mentioned song they derived from their blues-rock roots and went into more accoustic folk rock/world music. Nowadays this album is regarded as the zenit of their work together with IV.

This is such a great album. It really shows the musicianship of each member. I love how you pick up on JPJ's base lines in every song. You seem to have quite an exceptional ear for music. Keep them coming

I love watching your reactions to Led Zep videos. Great to see young people into Led Zeppelin. Even after only three albums I am sure you’ve by now learned what sets this band apart from all others. I sincerely hope you will find your way through their entire catalog with traction videos. It is so much fun seeing people “get” what it is about that band. And yes - I am 52, discovered LZ just a few years after their demise. Still my favorite band - as you said so so good. Keep going with them. You are in for some real treats. All the best to you young lady

I’m really enjoying how you’re letting these songs play out a little more without interruption, mostly because your first time experience will be better. And the volume level difference between you and the music has narrowed. There’s still a high pitch humming/buzzing during the pauses, FYI.

Yes, I remarked on this high pitch/whine a few weeks ago, but it must be hard for her to get rid if it... or she didn't read our messages.

Loved seeing how you reacted to all of side 1, but especially "Since I've Been Loving You," which is a tour de force. You got it fully on the first listen. When I was 14 (50 years ago), it took some time to let the album grow on me because it was so different from anything I'd heard before.

Its amazing watching old concert footage of them playing these songs live. Even though these studio albums used lots of overdubs (which why you can hear more than the three instruments i.e two guitars) they still sounded great live.

This is a masterpiece. The production, the music, all the of styles of playing and mood changing, make this one of their best.

Excellent reaction - you definitely get it, music this old, still this good......good to see it translate so many years later. They were light years ahead of everyone else at the time. You reaction proves it.

Been enjoying the analytical depth of Your perceptions ever since You began Reacting to Classic Rock. Have seen many of these Groups 'live' over the decades. It's SO refreshing to see 'fresh ears' genuinely appreciate the detail that captured these now 'old ears' all those decades ago (eg. Zeps 'since I've been loving you'). Verdy is my favourite Reaction Channel by far.

Hey Verd you Ledg listening to some Led,... killer lol! Great reaction, gee that brought back some years. Thank you! Haven't listened to this album for a long time one of my favorites, cheers! And I've often made the record skip or hit the stop button on the tape recorder, that happens sometimes when you rock out that's fine lol!
