Thanks for breaking it down. I will be ordering a solitude set. Get some more hunt videos on here. Would love to see a tree climbing set up and thought process with some skeletors. Been wearing FL since 2015 and I’m still getting new stuff. They are definitely the best.

hey just wanted to say I am a big fan of first lite, I have alot of their stuff even the sanctuary before the release of 2.0 warm as heck, but I still got chilled. my question is first lites competition are very open about what they use for their windproof material!, I would like to know what type of material does fist lite use, or is it a secret!

I just got my solitude set and it's NOT silent. It's quiet ... but crinkles a little. Also, I recommend getting a hand muff because you can't use the kit link pass thru when you have a bino harness on. Some even say they can't use it when sitting down, however I don't have that problem. I agree with everything else that was said.

I can take my Catalyst System down to 40 degrees but if the wind is blowing forget it....i freeze! Glad they are starting to incorporate windproofing.

I wore my Catalsyt set in 55-50 degrees this evening with nothing underneath besides a t shirt and it was a bit chilly. Might exchange it for a solitude set if I can get a deal

@@bryce8174 i had kiln base layers on, i can tolerate down to 40 with kiln base layers and catalyst system as long as the wind isnt frigid.

@@KTMsoldier1988 see I'm looking to get something for 50 degrees down to 35ish, I don't want to have to put layers on underneath, besides maybe sweatpants or a long-sleeve/t-shirt, just wanna a jacket and bibs on and head out the door, I already have the first edition sanctuary that I've never used

@@bryce8174 i see what you mean im not a huge fan of layering but i do believe in a good set of merino wool baselayers. I just purchased the Asio windproof tops and bottoms because i wasnt aware that First Lite switched the solitide to windproof.

So im in a self debate right now.. im in Minnesota, and want to get a set. Am i better off with a solitude set with a furnace under layer. Or the sanctuary with lighter underlayer.. I can only get one set.. and am trying to get the set i can wear the most... Cant the solitude be worn on those cold cold days like 0 or below with proper layering??

I’m in the exact same boat! I hunt north east North Dakota and wanna keep the bulk down while bow hunting. I feel like I’d wear the solitude more often but would (NEED) the sanctuary when it’s -10/-20

Actually after looking at the website according to how they break down the layers, literally the only difference is the solitude has 100g insulation, and sanctuary has 200g the rest of the construction is supposedly the same

I saw another review and the guy said that he would not wear the Solitude set below 20deg. I am in Indiana and I plan to use Solitude with 350 Furnace sets as mid layers, and 150 Merino Tech wool (Amazon) as next to skin. Merino Tech was a lot cheaper than buying FL Aerowool! Lastly, Minus 33 has 400 merino wool that's about the same price as Furnace but I returned it because it felt a lot heavier than Furnace and wasn't camo. If weight isn't an issue and you don't need dual mid/next to skin camo pieces, I highly recommend Minus 33 base ayers for warmth! Good luck this season!

@@grindano I live in western NoDak and have both sets and use my stand until closing day in January. You are right, you will use the solitude more frequently from October through November with lighter layers like the kiln and on windier days in the 30s maybe the furnace base layer. The sanctuary might only have a little bit more insulation but it definitely is more bulky especially the jacket. On below zero, up to 20 minus wind I’ll use it with just a base layer and maybe a vest. It’s difficult to use multiple layers with it. If I had to choose only one to use all winter it would be the solitude. Use a base layer, kalamath or vest, then jacket. Just add layers through the winter and you’d be fine. I bought the sanctuary and use it 5-10% of the time. You won’t need it at the end of the day.

@@Steven-hc3eb thanks for the info! I actually purchased the solitude set and was debating on getting the sanctuary for late season but now I might just save some money and size up one on the solitude. Did you feel the sanctuary ran small? I Ordered a medium (normal size) and the arms are super tight, where I can only wear 1 layer under it, as long as that layer isn’t bulky. I’m actually heading out west just South of Watford last week of rifle.

How is it any different. Can’t be breathable and windproof? I know you gotta sell this thing but inform and educate us if it is actually any better and how so???

You never answered what was different between the new windproof gear and the gear that was already windproof. Firstlite has been claiming for years that there stuff was “wind blocking” and it wasn’t. Is this new stuff 100% windproof?
@burrchin
@burrchin Жыл бұрын
Absolutely agree with you on this.. Apparently first lites windproof isn't the same as other companies.. What scares me about this is the comment about 37.5 that even with this so called amazing windproof they use it still breathes...? Really? Not falling for this windproof at 5mph wind again.
