Just got mine. The fit and finish is amazing. The trigger pull is the softest with a short reset. Incredible gun.

renaisence GP=35 are the most beautifull ones.totally engraved by an FN master engraver from the factory,with mother of pearl handles in black.the body is nickelplated.i have a baby browning in the same style wich comes in a little bible.

Your History is incorrect. Inglis was an Appliance maker prior to WWII. The company existed is name only till resurrected in the early 40's Fabrique Nationale made the Original Hi Powers was over run by the Nazis in 1940. Your missing Engineer name was Didionne Saive. He , others and Blueprints fled Belgium for Canada and started building Hi Powers under the Inglis Brand. China was an Early Inglis customer till Communist leanings killed those shipments. Canada used the Inglis as well as the UK issued the Inglis mainly to Paratroopers making the jump into Germany proper in 1945. The SDS weapon is Not a detailed example of the Original..its just use of a name.

The snagging you mentioned at 8:30 is caused by the slide moving over the hammer which is pushing the hammer down when the slide moves back. This is normal and happens on pretty much on all hammer fired semi autos. Also the color case hardening is on he surface only, it doesn’t go all the way through the metal.

I recently got the L9A1 version. I've found that the trigger will go dead for at least one round per magazine if the pistol is hot. Is that something that goes away after a break-in period?

the browning what you call highpower is also a GP wich means Grande puisance .and because its a belgian weapon and in belgium we speak french and flemmish hence the name GP 35.J=M browning died in 1926 almost 10 years before the release of the GP-35.the co inventor of the weapon was a belgian ingeneer named dieudonne saive. The GP-36 was my side arm for 30 years in the belgian military and i have a couple of them .A renaicense and a capitan(with the wooden buttstock and holster) and a practical comp shooter
