The best musical moment for me was definately that opening scene in GOG when Starlord fires up the Sony Walkman and starts dancing around to "Come And Get Your Love" in the middle of that abandoned wasteland of a planet. You couldn't help grinning from ear to ear. It set the tone for that whole film and, I think, made Pratt a superstar.

I was 14 when The Ghost and the Darkness came out, and it was the first screenplay I ever read. They released it on paperback before the movie came out. I'm not sure what inspired me to buy it, but I did. I read the screenplay, and then I watched the movie while following along with it IN THE MOVIE THEATER (which wasn't easy, considering the obvious lack of light in a movie theater). I'll never forget that. Good movie too. There were some changes from the script, if I recall. LOL

I can't believe the live-action Mulan movie not having a white love interest was even a story. OF COURSE SHE SHOULDN'T! The original didn't, and the movie takes place in China, the love interest should be Chinese! Li Shang was a perfectly good character for her, and people would be upset if he wasn't in it. That'd be like my movie having white supporting characters as part of my WAKANDAN tribe. That wouldn't fly well with me, or any other person. Smh.

Amen on the Mulan comments from Campea and crew. It's going to spark a huge shift in the studio system if it's successful, particularly for American-Asian and international Asian actors in big budget US movies. I think Aladdin will hopefully do the same for people of Middle Eastern origins. I hope they can do something for Native Americans as well. They always get shafted the hardest in big US films, since they are hardly ever represented in a positive, if any, light at all.

kakarot134 Oh totally. I just neglected to mention that or Queen of Katwe and Hidden Figures because I feel like those films are really starting to catch their stride in a positive light. We still have the ridiculous fetishism and stereotyping, unfortunately. Asians, Middle Easterns and Native Americans are STILL shafted CONSTANTLY. There's tons of great indie stuff, but big studios until recently weren't so interested. We need big name stars of all colors.

something to think of when considering the atlantian armor, is that they live there... as land lubbers we think about what it's like to swim wearing things. it's the opposite for them. everything they wear is designed for their lives. so it wouldn't be like wearing a suit of armor made for riding horses into battle. it would be made for swimming and fighting sharks or something. LOL. plus us land dwelling people would have much different muscle development walking and running and riding bikes etc, than a species that swims all the time. i'm obviously looking too much into it, but i see it as kind of looking at their armor as how awkward it would be for a walker to swim in... which is a problem they wouldn't have. lol

But I am confused about Captain Marvel now. So if her movie is an origin, I wonder how she will be introduced in Avengers or possibly Guardians? I figured out the twist for The Village in the very first trailer. It was so incredibly obvious just based on the premise of the film, and having seen M. Night's other films. You didn't need to know or see anything else about the movie. And like John, I really enjoyed the first half of the movie, but spent the whole time hoping I was wrong about the idiotically obvious twist. I can't think of another film that was so good for the first half, and so freaking bad for the second half.

@antorserper86128 жыл бұрын
I've been saying the EXACT same thing since this story broke. They're basically saying that sexual preference is a choice, which, if I'm not mistaken, has been something that the LGBTQ community has been fighting against since forever. That's what makes those camps or treatment centers where they try to "fix" gays etc so awful.
@mugen36038 жыл бұрын
Antor Serper Yeah, it's like they're just saying these things because it's the "cool" and politically correct responses to give, but they don't put any thought into it at all, so they end up undermining the very people they think they're standing up for. No, it doesn't make sense for Wonder Woman to be bisexual because she lives in a community of only women. Wonder Woman being bisexual would only make sense if Wonder Woman is bisexual. Period.
