Yeah you’re basically opening special arts and treatments from the 4 commander decks so there will be alot of rares. There’s 18 I believe exclusive reprints in these packs not available in the precons so look out for these.

The packs have all the cards from the decks. Theres no typical rare mythic per pack deal.

Like Dr Who, what you pull from a Collector Pack is the cards you get from buying the 4 commander decks. Just here they are special editions of those cards and this time they added some cards that just come in Collector Boxes. To justify the price, they put mostly rare and mythics otherwise why would anyone buy them?

Box prices being so high is ridiculous, but on the other hand, driving down the price of singles with Alternate Arts and Serialized cards for collectors to chase is a very good thing for the accessibility of the game pieces, in my opinion. Unless, of course, you like opening packs, in which case, it’s absolutely terrible, because you’re going basically never going to get the value in cards that you paid for. There’s a reason why MtG has slowly lost its identity as a TRADING card game: it’s because you can get the cards you need from a set for a fraction of what a single box would cost.

Yeah, I almost never see anybody actually "trading" magic cards anymore, and if they do it's always "okay yours is $5.72 mine is $7.16 so you'll have to add another ..." it's ridiculous.

No, nothing justifies how much WoTC is price gouging the heck out of boxes of any sort. Once HASBROs/WoTC see that people will buy at these high prices, it is an incentive to sell more at such high/higher prices. Just wait and see when new sets come out, boxes will be insane. Just think how much it takes them to make these cardboard pieces, probably several dollars, maybe even cheaper base on their scale.

honestly I'm kind of tired of these stupid serialized cards and people chasing them and driving the prices up so much it isn't every worth buying and cracking then you can just by singles for penny's. if i wanted a collectable id collect baseball cards they definitely need to just make whale tier boxes called mythic collectors boxes with 4 packs 6 cards per pack priced at 1k with one guaranteed serialized card per box and let the finance bro ass hats and investors collect that and put normal 36 pack booster boxes out and 8-16 pack normal collectors boxes out with no serialized cards and price them so people can enjoy them and the whales can harpoon each other over who has the most expensive serialized card and its good they handing out so many rare and Mythics they have lost there value and that's good it keeps prices down

People are so uneducated nowadays, it's so funny. Surely a universes beyond special set that only comes in these beautiful alternate arts or some boring commander deck versions isn't allowed to upgrade previous released cards to a higher rarity since it's not like there exists a shit ton of their boring and usual artwork copies, right? It's almost like people never opened strixhaven, which is just a standard set with archive dark rituals upgraded to rare... Sad to see such a weird response to this "strategy" on rarity.
