The color grading is 100% Suicide Squad. It actually looks goofy, like an Instagram filter. Some colors really pop while others are way toned down. There is also oversaturation where it shouldn't be, like in some shadows, and an overall lack of contrast in the same areas (warm flat highlights and kind of purple flat shadows that have some pop to them). Look at people's faces; they look pasty and "photoshopped." I really don't like this aesthetic.

The best justification for the trunks came from when I read the book 'Superman Smashes the Klan' in which a young Clark Kent, nervous about scaring people with his powers meets a circus strongman who wore a skintight suit with a cape and trunks on the outside. After saving his life the strongman, stage named Samson, explained he had similar worries but explained that the costume helps put people at ease. I even did research and how Jerry and Joe modeled Superman's look after carnival strongmen and the outfits they wore. So it's nice to hear that David came to the same conclusion and cast the deciding vote.

Those flying scenes are gonna be NEXT level and I think the flight scenes are gonna set the standard for Superman flying on screen also I truly think this film will be absolutely revolutionary for DC and it's gonna be amazing I can't wait . The only color grading or filter that ever truly bothered me in a cbm was avenger's age of Ultron. I think what he means when he says "to not taket superheroes too serious" is the fact that if we go to see these types of movies with a serious mentality then you are taking away the fantastically fun aspect of these movies remember these are fictional comicbook heroes and no matter how much you can try to make grounded or serious these movies are just to have a great fun moment, just remenber this serious aspect for Superman was the reason so many people didn't like that tone for Superman because it tooked away the fun and fantastic world of the man of steel seeing one Superman overwhelmed by the fact of being Superman like if he was sad of being him.

I’ll be back when the trailer is out tomorrow. But, I am relieved by both these 30 seconds and many of James’ comments about the film. If this is the tone we can expect tomorrow and when the film is out, then I am relieved. I only wish the infighting would stop. But all it takes is for someone on either side to take the first step to finding peace in the fanbase. So, from a DC fan who loved Zack’s DC work to a fellow DC fan, I’m relieved and I’ll be looking forward to the film. I'm not fully convinced on some things: I expected the cinematography to be way brighter, but it looks a lot like The Suicide Squad, not sure if it that color palette will fit the movie well. The shots of the people looking up feel a bit off, but I guess its because they're random shots that from what I heard, are not gonna be in the final trailer. I'm not sure how I feel about the cyan-ish color palette from the footage. On one hand, it's great that the colors are vibrant and I'm glad that they're utilizing a brighter and colorful palette, especially compared to how dull recent blockbusters (and to extent, most movies) have been looking for the past few years. But on the other hand, the colors look a little too green-yellowish which is a little off-putting and odd. Also I'm not too keen on the 1:85:1 aspect ratio they're using, as I would've prefer a Cinemascope/2:39:1 look that feels more appropriate. But everything else looks good! I'll reserve judgement until the trailer comes out tomorrow.

This just looks like a generic, modern day American city. The aesthetic of the clothing, especially the extras on the street lend to the retro-futuristic look, but the buildings and design of the city don't. It's not going to ruin it for me however. Looking forward to the big show!

The flying shots look good, but the rest looks like a bland overly color timed TV commercial, especially the shot of the people reacting in their office. Those constant modern style slow zooms actually make shots boring instead of dynamic. Not the same as classic old fashioned dolly shots, crane shots or just having the camera be still and confident, with the weird need to do an all too common slow zoom. Optimistic, but not surprised by how it looks... I miss when films actually looked filmic and cinematic. Today everything looks the same, generic and kind of cheap despite large budgets. Always the same blue/yellow/orange attire and furniture, making it come across as not natural.
