I wonder if there is a way to give each user access group a unique start page/portal navigation page? Or is it possible to restrict/hide individual blocks on a page by access group?

Yes, their docs have an article on how to restrict particular content on a page.

How does SureMembers protect from customers going back to the off site player address without permission?

I would love to see a comparison between this and Restrict Content Pro. Especially since Kadence and RCP are owned by the same company.

When I first started working with it SureMembers reminded me of RCP because it was pretty easy to use. However, RCP has suffered a bit over the past couple of years. The current team is working hard to pull it back up, but it might take some time. RCP has a lot of developer hooks that you can use and as far as I know, SureMembers doesn't have those yet. I tested out SureCart recently and it is also simple and easy to use. I'm expecting it to become a big winner. SureCart has a triggers addon (in beta still) that helps to wire things up on the site when a sale is made. SureMembers has an integration with SureCart that RCP doesn't have. Of course, just because it is new doesn't mean you must buy it. If you own RCP and it meets all of your requirements then no need to get another membership / content access plugin.

Hi David If I won Tutor LMS. Do I need SureMembers? Or this is a different plugin?

This is a different plugin. If you already have your course site secured you don't need this, but if you don't then this can help with that.

What about protecting certain parts of pages?

If you go and look at the access group settings, in the lower right corner is a shortcode you can use to protect content on a page.
