8,000 seat stadium is not "massive" in the world of tennis, that's like a third level show court at a grand slam event. A top seeded player would probably be annoyed being put on that court.

I live in a US state which has grown 700% in my lifetime. Unless a resident is benefiting personally from any growth/development, they are absolutely opposed. They own none of the property, and may have developed property of their own, but fallow and non-income producing is how EVERYONE wants EVERYONE ELSE'S property to remain. And thy fight it as though they are indigenous peoples being moved out of the country
