Hi really thank you for the review and comparison. Please could you confirm, that centerline of the lens is normally in the center of the screen (not border) of the screen and it could be shifted? Your setup looks like that. I'm asking, that there is some confusions in the manual and between some "written" tests. Thank you! Kind regards

Thoughts on how the black levels and overall picture compares to a ls11000?

Sorry, I haven't tried the Epson. I hear good things about their UB series though when it comes to black levels on a budget. I've seen the LS compared in some written reviews

Would be good to see the 4550i on the white screen - wondering how much the better black is due to the ALR

I showed it briefly in my full review. ALR makes a difference, but still not perfect black in either case. Without perfect black, I find I'm looking more at the perceived contrast. White screen is brighter, so in scenarios with mixed content with bright subjects and black backgrounds, the black levels seem about the same.

Hey. Im in dire need of trying to get my HT4550i to play 3d bluerays from my PS3. I didnt have much luck from Benq customer support. I have the right 3d glasses, a HDMI cable that wouldnt have issues and of course the 3d Blue rays. I cant seem to figure it out. My next step is getting a 3D blueray player but want to avoid that. The 3d always looked sick on my 3d sony tV so I know the PS3 worked. PLEASE HELP.

I tried it on a 100" and 120" screen. Look up W1000 in your area.

The throw ratio is a little limited . Very bright , sharp and detailed. At around $3K is certainly is in the conversation for best in its price range.

Yeah, probably not appropriate if you plan on putting it on the back wall of a long room.

@@joentell Yeah, the throw seems a little strange in this price bracket. The HT5550 was more flexible and had a better lens shift range allowing a high shelf in the back of a theater.

@@GizmoMaltese I'd call it medium throw. In this price range you'd generally see longer throw like the HT5550 for a discrete hush box or in a different room behind the seating and out of sight.

That's a night day difference. But how about the power consumption?

I don't know. I haven't looked into that. I assume this consumes less because lower fan noise = less heat.
