am i the only one who's absolutely underwhelmed by the design of these? the chibi designs? lenticular and glow-in-the-dark 'technology' (??? it's 2021 come on guys...). who is this really marketed towards? toddlers with a vault full of gold? 🤔

the chibi design was maybe the one I really did not expect from an expensive collector item... the others I can kind of see as a possible item in someone's collection, but those childish medals... the first target audience I saw in my had was 'rich kids'... I have mixed feelings about the whole collection

Yeah the designs of most of them are not really what you would expect from a collection for actual collectors. The Hogwarts crest and the four house crests are great but the rest looks like it was made for children. Especially the last one is very disappointing. First of all, I would have preferred it without the pixalated picture of Harry and only with the stag on it. The glow in the dark is ok in my book because I thik it's fun with a patronus. But with the quality of the picture and it looking really cheap I would never ever pay that much money for it, no matter how rare it is.

@@lvthn_ I sooooo thought the same! Lame design, poor color choices... Imagine handling that white folder to add your coins and eventually "visit" them, now add a few years and I can already see it all yellowed. Everything is just so cheaply made and pricey-sold that it gives me the creeps.

I'm surprised you loved the chibi medals, I thought you weren't into cartoony art style (I am not either 🤷). I felt the same about Daniel Radcliffe appearing on the last coin. My favourite collectible in this box were the house crests, they felt much more magical to me and showcasing them would be so special!

I'm not gonna lie, I was not really a fan of this collection. It just seemed like a cash grab with generic harry potter images on the coins. Even though the packaging of everything and the quality of the coins themselves seems really nice, the images on them do cheapen them to a degree. It's just kind-of underwhelming unfortunately. :(

I love that Cherry’s energy is great enough to attract the attention of sponsors, and for giving this brand a shot, but… these feel like the gold plastic coins I got from party city for my 5th grade st Patrick’s day party. Especially the glow in the dark coin that says “expects patronum” in cheap font? I’m confused who these are made for.

I have to say this collection doesn’t feel magical at all 😔. There is just a cartoonish design or actors face on the coins. These are not from the wizard world. These are just fan items for rich kids. I’m very surprised that Cherry even finds something nice to say about these.

This really didn't make me very excited. I love your work Cherry and I really appreciate you showing us the collection. I have grown to love fan made items so much more the the 'real' stuff. I find fans have better and more creative ideas for items. One of my favorite Harry Potter things I have is your mandrake print. I prefer things that feel like the come right out of the magical world.

I hate to say this BUT I feel like this was a heavily endorsed promo job, it just didn’t feel genuine to me at all 😬 the excitement felt very fake to her usual reactions, she almost always as far as I’m aware mention how much she doesn’t like Chibbi style everyone she gets something in that style and this time she liked them? The coins were literally covered in scratches and she didn’t mention that at all which attention to detail is something she seems to always pick up on and mentions. I’m not sure if I’m just picking split ends? But I’ve watched sooo many of her videos and this just didn’t seem like how she normally acts when she genuinely genuinely enjoys something :/

@@padfootspack I agree 100% it wasn’t just the Chibi style either, the whole thing felt very awkward and forced and when she mentioned “I have a cheat sheet but it’s just for me” it instantly made me think it was key things she had to say for the Job. I 100% understand some brands will sponsor you a very very large amount to make quality content especially at this length of video to such a huge audience specific to their niche and it can be hard to turn down such a big brand deal … with that being said though, she has been in the game for so long and should only be taking brand deals now that align with her honest opinions otherwise it just seems a bit like she’s trying to sell us fans a product that she doesn’t even genuinely like. Big brand deals like this are obviously big money to lose out on, but when you’re this seasoned in the game it should be fan honesty first always! I would have gave it the benefit of the doubt if it was a new channel struggling to get brand work but this is not the case here 😬

Same thing here. Especially at the chibi I was like 'surely she is gonna say something now' but nope. But at the lenticular too. That's not a very impressive lenticular and imo it just cheapens the entire thing and yet she's acting like it's the best thing ever? What I also noticed is that usually she's relatively quick to say that a price is steep, even if she'll say it's worth it and now we're talking frankly ridiculous amounts of money for cheap looking coins and she keept talking like it was all completely reasonable? I don't know, I love Cherry but this vid just rubbed me the wrong way

The comments under this yikes. Does it occur to you that she might have gotten in to contract and gotten let down. But no "she got paid more money than she thinks her integrity is worth" do you know if it was possible for her to back out of the contract no just assume she sold out. I am not saying don't be disappointed, but don't be jerks about it. You don't know her end of the agreement.

You won't find the eagle on most officially licensed merch. It'll probably be a raven because they make most licensed merchandise movie accurate instead of book accurate. 🙄 💙🦅💙

My favorite thing about Harry Potter during Christmas is the fact that every Christmas scene is special. Like they care about each other so much that it shows during the holiday season whether it's opening Molly's sweaters and scarfs or going to the burrow or all the snow and the great hall decorated and seeing Hagrid pull the tree in. It's just so magical and homely.

The New Zealand mint has been making nice Harry Potter coins solid silver or gold. Disney came out with similar cupro nickel silver plated coins and they go for $10 ea. The house "coin" is a challenge token they go for min $10 ea. I collect coins and love Harry Potter so its a decent nice set for younger people.

If you like the last coin NZ mint actually has a whole range of silver legal tender coins in their harry potter range. They're by no means cheap but very nice and luxurious like the one you got. I've been collecting a few of them

The trunk is beautiful! But this is it. It might sound cruel, and I do feel a bit bad for the company, but honestly... besides the trunk, I wouldn't take any of these, even if it was free. There is so much potential in coin making, but these feel a bit childish. The materials might be very nice, but the designs are very um... old looking, and not in a good way. It feels lazy.
