Back then, Ultimate wasn't a transformation at all, lore-wise. Dragon Ball Super retconned it to make it a transformation. So it now makes sense for Gohan to be able to transform into it in Sparking Zero.

@@catalyst9808 nah, in Sparking Zero characters only have up to 3 transformations to keep somewhat balanced the amount of kits each character has, that's why Blue Kaioken and Evolution are active skills instead of transformations. With The Great Saiyaman, that means Buu Saga Gohan already has 3 transformations, and DBS Gohan has no transformation sequence into Ultimate but has The Great Saiyaman showing up constantly during filler episodes, so I don't think they'll cut Saiyaman from a possible DBS Gohan. Turtle Gi Ultimate Gohan will likely be a separate character again, with a moveset that's likely to be inspired by DBS alongisde the Buu Saga kit from BT3. However, Adult Gohan from Super Hero will likely be able to transform into Ultimate, as in the film he went from base to SSJ2 to Ultimate. Add Beast to that and we already have Super Hero Adult Gohan's 3 transformations.

This looks great! We'll have to see about any lag though, can't really tell anything from this footage since they're on a lan connection. The game is probably p2p with some central server for matchmaking. So after matchmaking they'd basically be directly connected to eachother and since they're on lan, it's the best connection you can get. We'll have to see how it handles a real online match with distance between players.

I've been thinking of them doing a dramatic finish system or something similar. I feel like it should be once you get the opponents health down to the last bar your ultimate changes to something that actually kills the enemy, like you said the hakai. Some moves actually obliterate the opponent. Like vegetas dirty fireworks would actually blow up the opponent and their character would get switched out. Would be amazing and add even more uniqueness to characters. It could be difficult to make moves like that for everyone tho.

You can have up to 7 health bars, so it should be fine. Scale that down to other fighting games 3 ults kills you, I could be wrong but that sounds about right for other fighting games

If the issue was they can't give us local due to map destruction, then why not simply have it be a setting toggle, and just have it be disabled by default on the consoles that cant handle it ( x box series s) and just make a disclaimer about performance. This way they can add all the maps without any issues.... and if it crashes on xbox series s, its on the user, since they agreed to the disclaimer and they still decided to turn it on.

It really is a fusion of raging blast and tenkaichi, they did transformations/fusions like raging blast and movesets/skills like tenkaichi, Im def sold on this game IMO they should do both a limited DP style ranked with up to 5 chars and unlimited ranked battle where you can pick any 3 chars or 3 char limited and 5 char unlimited, either way I can't wait for this game to drop

If you get anything, you won't get legendary finishes. You'll get the system from RB which was a team finish, such as having goku/krillin on the same team resulted in the spirit bomb having a much different animation and doing 99999 damage. Had factors to activating it mind you, but that's likely what you'll get. The enemy after the attack was disentegrated though.

My thoughts: The melee is seamless and the colors are vibrant. Transforming is done roughly the same way as BT3, so that's a +. BEAM CLASHES. Tons of good things in this game ive seen so far. The negatives: if you are on the ground and the opponent is in the air, the camera goes through the ground to view both characters instead of widening the scope of view for the ground person. That's really the only mevagive I've spotted thus far. Overall: looks to be a solid 9-9.5/10. Im here for it!

I think it was mainly storm that paved the way for all the newer arena fighters. Tenkaichi had some play but that game is unique and besides sparking zero I don’t think was replicated until then (later db games and mods aside). A lot of arena fighters released are comparable to storm. Tenkaichi was that guy, storm was the person you copied homework off of.
